Well, nancy and Linda, sorry, I'm sure Jaba has my name for her swap partner. And of the three, guess I'd have to take the whales, but would not be unhappy with any of them. And hope I'm not the one who unwitingly got Jaba's allergies going to town with my cat.

Jaba, I love them all. I'd say the butterflies are my favorite, then the dolphins/killer whales, then the pastel flowers.

Speaking of dolphins. I saw this posted on Facebook yesterday. Pretty cool...

Default Tropical Splendor

I received notice from the online quilt shop that my order has been shipped. In the meantime I found this fun tropical fabric - Brian just loves it - it would make a great 10-minute runner.

That must be an alexander henry fabric. He does all the hunk hot cakes fabrics. Its got good colors but I cant see the woman hanging out on my table My sons might disagree

I received two pieces today and one of them I was oh no its so big. i was going to make post cards with the lorilie fabric beach ladies however they are like 5 x7 which is not post card size. the other however was a parrot and drink fabric with nice big flowers love it. and it goes nicely with my batik fabrics this great blue I have and an orange both in the parrots and drinks (blue hawaiian cocktail). I will start on a newbie tomorrow but might check the mail first for the real parrot fabric I ordered and maybe a batik fq swap envelope! never know if something good might come in...I wish my partner would say youuuwhooo I love these colors!! sigh guess she will get a suprise coming.

Actually the babes are for a pillowcase for Brian - the local quilt shop has most of the hunks and babes fabric kitted up for pillowcases. This past weekend all kits were 25% off - good deal.

i haven't been on much lately, except waiting for a response on the home dec swap. she is happy!! now i can get all the other stuff done!
i was very very naughty today and bought my own birthday, anniversary and mother's day gift! it is the brother 7050 embroidery machine, and on sale! but we're having a big ole thunderstorm and i don't want to blow it up the first time i plug it in. now i have to figure out what to do with my se400 that i've never even plugged in. the directions just didn't make sense to me. but this manual looks simple enough. as the storm goes thru i will just keep reading the directions, over and over and over....man, this is a long storm!!

Thanks for all the comments ladies, now if I can just figure out what my partner might like I'd be home free. Vanogay your runner is great, it's on my dining room table. No meds, it's just if someone forgets to vacuum or brush off the cat hair, if their kitty curls up on fabric, then I have a problem. Weird, it's just something with the hair. Happy Birthday to you nancia, enjoy. That's how I buy "my" presents too, so much fun At least you get something you want and will use

0H I MISSED that part.. oh crud. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and all the other celebrations you are taking on all at once. I hope you get oodles of use from your new machine. Once you get the hang of it it seems that those who do the embroidery love using it. You can tell. They embroider everything! lol you will love it. and what a great gift. shoot I ask for things like blenders.. this year going for a new microwave. Ours is ancient and if the cats jump up on top to get to the top shelf in the kitchen it turns itself on. scares me as I can see it running for an hour catching the house on fire. not good at all. scared of a microwave. how silly is that. just unplug the damned thing

thank you! my birthday is the beginning of may, our anniversary is april 30 and his b'day is the 29th. i like to give me a little something for his b'day, too! just to be evenhanded, lol. my sister calls it the trifecta, and she comes up to our humble little home and takes us out to eat. it's the perfect gift! don't have to find a place to put it, it fits right on my hips. don't have to dust it, just spray with a shower now and then, and i never forget who it was who gave it to me! what more can you ask for? meanwhile, i am going to bed early tonight so i can get up in the a.m. for a change, and set up and play with my new machine. i'm having a total mental meltdown creatively at the moment. wish i had a switch to just turn it on when i need it and off when i don't. as you know we manic depressives go through giddy highs and get all sorts of stuff done, then fall into the la brea tar pits and can't get out. i have some ideas, just need to figure out the how-to's and right now they don't involve embroidery.
brat-- before we got married (it was our first date) i told my date (later dh) that i had a few rules he would do well to remember. 1) never give a household appliance as a gift. if we need it, buy it. if we don't then leave it in the store. 2)if you ever hit me, make it good because i won't hang around for a second hit. 3) if you're running late, call. if you haven't called and you're not there in 15 minutes, neither am i. 4) you may cheat on me once. you will not have the wherewithall to cheat on me again. good to remember: i need a lot less sleep than you do. it's working pretty well. 37 years and i haven't caught him yet!loll, and i don't expect i ever will. he is a good man and i feel very blessed to have found him and to have fallen in love with him. i smile every time he walks in the door! ( he was late one time so i left with friends and went out got back from partying and the doorbell rang. he was sorry but blah, blah, blah, and all i could think of was, darn it, he didn't know i hadn't been there! poo!
