[QUOTE=Elisabrat;5813270]When the swaps work the way they are supposed to they are great. Its sad when a person can take something yet not return their part of the deal. if you cant do it within the time frame be real with yourself. wait. there will be a time when you might be able to join in. Dont do it if you arent good to go with rules. timelines. reality. just my humble. and anyone can squeeze four or five hours out if it even takes you that long over the time frame of these swaps. an hour here there it adds up. that tv show can wait it will be there next week. sheesh. I am sorry you still havent received yours yet sure hope it comes with a nice fat apology.

Agreed! I was about 3 days late sending mine out, which I loathe being late!! I had a broken machine and some "dye running from red silk thread issues"...I was in touch with Anastasia about it all, and was racing like a mad woman to get it finished! I know emergencies happen...but if it seems to happen over and over from the same person, well..And, for me, if I couldn't have gotten mine done, I would have asked Anastasia if I could send my "swappee" the table runner that I had received....and I LOVE the one I got...but to me that would be a fair option...and this is just my humble opinion...

Also, Elisabrat, my dh sounds like he would fit right in with some of the "critter stuff" you speak of...I actually call him Jed Clampett...We have been married almost 30 years..so it is said with love...mainly..
He has his Critterville room, and residing in there are several rattlesnake skins he tanned from ones he has killed, a wild boar skull that he did a "European Mount" on, whatever that means...he and our son shot it in Dec 2011, and yes, it was processed and they love the meat! I admit I have tried the pork chops, and they are good...but the sausage, pulled pork, etc...no thanks! He also has a tarantula that is encased in plexiglass...and this past summer he came in and had a horned toad skeleton...he found it on our acreage, weird deal, as it looks like it was just standing and died, every bone intact...dh said he had never seen anything like it, and of course it is now sitting on a shelf in there, too..I have some pics of his stuff, but I don't know if it would be ok to share them here...quilting to critters...hmm...probably not.
Whats really funny is when we moved out to the country, and had our 1st big storm and lost electricity (our house is all electric, so when it goes there is no heat or a/c, no water (well pump is electric), etc). Tho I don't hunt or "rough it" well, I always considered myself more like Laura Ingalls...after our 1st storm experience I told dh I was more like Nellie Olsen...we both laughed thinking of Nellie with Jed...

Hang in there Kiffee, trust me I know it's hard to do. I've been in the "sitting on the bench" and waiting spot many a time and this month I can honestly say I got most of my swaps promptly. But it does seem like every swap on the board has been a disaster in January, it has to be some kind of freak thing. I got a Pm from a lady saying I should have her package but didn't let her know, oops she had me confused with someone else. Then I get a package out of the blue, she says she got my name, but I already have my 2 boxes and my partners have theirs. Still have to send her a PM tonight and find out her address and real name, then does she want me to send it back or should I send her a surprise box? Honest, crazy stuff is in the air.

I darned sure can't handle the freezing cold and I'm a minnesotan. That's why I made the last swap take SOO Long. I knew it was either going to give the people the time to deal with the holiday runaround and chaos, or it was going to make them forget.. SO I kept up with reminder PMs and harassments.. I mean.. uh.. hehe. Yea. There's always people who will be faster than others. I personally can't even get anything done until it's last minute.. Not sure what it is.. I'm a professional procrastinator. I don't mind late if I know what's going on and can relay the information so the person receiving isn't feeling jipped. I can tell them, hey just hang on, it's on it's way. I'm sure everyone is ok with that vs not knowing at all.

I don't mind the being late so much as long as I know. It's the not saying anything that drives me nuts. But I will admit, I am one that when I sign up I do it right then and mail. This is just the way I started and I know if I changed now, I'd forget something and would be late all the time. Don't want that!

I agree with Jaba - as long as I know I don't mind the late - the waiting. It's when nothing is being said that make everything hard and I have been on the bench - in the cold - all alone - waiting - looking inside that mailbox, sniff, sniff!! I got my table runner pretty much on time and my secret pal boxes as well. Maybe 2013 is going to be a good year for me!!

oh it is maybe you will get me Vanogay and heck a few suprises from the man as well extra credit gifts! let me ask what is in his pocket..HONEY?
dabbler he wants to see the skunk coat. he said that would be soooo cool. sigh.
Dear Nellie and Mr. Clampett the dear man would love to come stay with you and go on a treasure hunt. he kept knodding as I read your post and he said see! see! GROAN.

Alright are we there yet? ready ready.. I hope that by now all has been resolved. Your all correct notification is the key. if your late your late sometimes life happens but dont just hide under your dinner table and hope no one notices. SAY SOMETHING its truly not that hard. then I wont have to start singing again like I did in the last swap. no one wants me singing. la la la laaa (need a quick tune anyone).

I hope all that late talk does not prohibit new sign ups. This is a great swap and worked mostly really well lol. Same as all the other swaps. for the most part it went very smooth. the chatter is fun. the work in progress is great inspiration and well I have to make this for someone! anyone want one of my runners??? no glitter promise.. unless you like glitter . I will even make you a Christmas runner if you prefer! or a halloween or an easter or a fourth of july one whatever you want I can do it. mostly unless you want like horses fresh out of horses. oh oh I have some cute cat fabrics.. maybe a chocolate and raspberry colored runner? cabbage and roses? (kaffe fassette)
