Anastasia’s Table Topper/Runner Swap -- Closed
#11
My husband and I were married while we were on a business trip to Ottawa, Ontario two years ago come May. It was during the tulip festival... I've not really gone all cutesy with this one as it wasn't our first so something with tulips would be nice. White ones, if possible, red and purple accents.

I found something Jaba that I think you would love. I have it waiting until perhaps I get your name as a Secret Pal or perhaps as the table swap partner. With all the swaps you and I participate in, perhaps it will happen soon. Now you can wonder...

Okay, I am throwing caution and sanity to the wind (hmm...must have sanity to toss it, tho...) and signing up again...this will force me to get over there and start playing with my new machine...and also on this one I am pledging that part of the quilting will be fmq and I will not revert back to hand quilting!!! Um, probably....

Kiffie, your hand quilting was so adorable on my runner! I took it to work with me today and both the ladies in my office were so jealous!
Ana, feel free to pop over to my swap and post a link! It'll be nice to see your "face in the place!"

hey Anastasia has a face! she does not. fooling me again dustysmom. And lovely wedding photo I have tulip fabric but its not white its black with red tulips or its white with pink and purple and I think coral tulips on it. very pretty stuff. I am thinking the black one is too dark for spring its a good deep romantic thing but not all spring long. Who doesnt want a spring one btw? if you dont yell ok as your signing up say hey love it sign me up oh oh yeah I really dont like spring and flowers and happy thoughts and yeah yell. lol its me guys.. if you want serious talk to those .. other guys all around me.
hand quilting? sure take my teeth out with carving knives while your at it. oh and I will paper piece while its happening. oh uh NO. I like stitching squares together by hand but the actual quilting. ugh. come on over to the darker side K the one with electricity and .. machines. that thing you paid good money for. try it it doesnt hurt at all and look at all the time you will have to sew more things for swaps now that your using that machine. You can even name it if you like as you become closer friends.
do you name your machines ladies? mine is called..machine. I dont have a name. it hates me I know it does.

I think my machine needs a name too. I think I shall name her Evelyn after my gramma. She's the reason I started sewing again, and the reason I wanted to learn to quilt to begin with years ago. She's also the one who taught me to crochet. Hard to believe she's been gone almost 6 months. This time last year I was preparing to go visit her over spring break. Mother had to remind her who I was, she thought mother was my aunt, and she tried to pick up my boyfriend (that's Gramma for ya, lol), but I still loved seeing her. She gave me a crocheted butterfly while I was there, which I keep in my nightstand drawer. If I know her, she's probably somewhere crocheting more baby things and trying to figure out how she can get an angel to come off their halo so she can use it for a crafting project, lol.
Elisabrat, any runner is a good runner. A little black in the spring can be useful if it's done right. I'm thinking of a bunch of tulips against a black wall. That would be kind of cool. Ooh, I could even use some of that rainbow thread I have to stitch the edges....pillowcase style, not binding. I do have some black loons that are supposed to be stuffed but could be used for applique. They came in a batch of stuff I got for $25.
Oh, that reminds me! If anyone knows of an organization that would like to be the recipient of a bag full of medieval style costume patterns, give me a shout. There's probably a dozen or so in the bag & I can send pictures if needed when the camera comes back from Denmark.

Vanogay, just make it and send it no problem! When you get my name (instead of us on a bench somewhere) you can remind me I already got part of it! Oh yeh, that'll work. And my dear little hubby just reminded me you only have 4 fingers on each hand and 1 thumb. Isn't he special?
