Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! All of a sudden today I had an awesome source to donate to. The lady from the "Purple....Red Hatter's Club" picked up the quilt I had made for them and the donation table runner's I made for the door prizes. She is the head of the hospital nurses and is the chief OR nurse here and she also does volunteer work to counsel cancer patients that are on only medicare, food stamps, low income, etc. She said they have nothing and are so thankful for anything. I asked if she thought they could use a quilt and she was absolutely delighted! Taking 10 to her this weekend for the clients and told her I would supply as needed. Makes me happy, I couldn't ask for a better source for them to go to.
I finished 2 UFO's from our little candies this week, they needed quilted and binding sewn on, another one quilted but the binding isn't sewn yet. I have 2 more to go but they need quilted first, all sewn together though

Only need to bind my quilt door prize for American Legion function next weekend in Tulsa called Legion Live where the telecast will go to worldwide active military sites. The locals & out of town guests will be able to speak live with their active military family member! There will be music, food, veterans as speakers, children's activities & of course lots of camaraderie & networking. The last time this was done was during WWII but was a radio production. Excited to support the families, too! Hope they like my quilt!!! Hope to post pic before delivery.

Jaba, glad you found the right cause for your quilts. I always shudder when people just mail them away... They mean well but all their money and work might not end up where they intended at all. It's always safest and best to donate locally, and know who will be handling your quilts.
I just finished quilting a "candy" quilt tonight. Binding is half on. Trying to have as many as I can to bring to my meeting and donate on Saturday.
So heartwarming that many of you are also donating your quilts to people who really need the love!

LuciaLPL and Crispy Frog, I sent your candies on Monday, June 5 along with Kele and Patrick's Mom's candies. They received theirs on the 9th and 10th. Could you check again just to be sure? And if you received it with the envelope torn or something, please let me know.
Thank you,

Hello - finally got my computer back - up and running. My, how we depend on electronics. Everyone seems to be busy. I make twin size quilts for the women's shelter. they have twin size beds and had mentioned once that, although they use the small child size and baby size quilts, they love the ones that can cover the bed. When families are ready to move on, they can take their bedding with them.
I haven't been able to keep up with all the posts, so I hope everyone received their June Candy.

I may not be around for the next 10 days or so. We're headed to the NC mountains, and I don't know if there will be any phone/internet service. DH and I need some fresh air and some together-time!
