Yes, please continue the swap. My candies have been in their envelopes since December. I was procrastinating finishing 3 commissioned t-shirt quilts for Christmas by cutting candies. I packaged all of my candies AND finished the 3 quilts on Christmas eve day. I work better under pressure.

I am a nurse practitioner in an oncology clinic located on a hospital campus. Driving to/from work is strange because there is not the usual commuter traffic. Getting into hospital buildings with the COVID-19 precautions (interrogation) is like getting into Fort Knox. Patients have to come by themselves. No friends or family members are allowed, even during their chemotherapy treatments. I am happy I can be there for my patients, because nobody fights alone.

I vote to keep the swap going.
Being able to sew and quilt again makes me happy. I was cleared yesterday to return to work on Monday. Been a long 3 months. Sad I willbe working from home but thankful to have a job.

I finished this quilt for my sister last night.

The mail just ran and we got our prize! Emmaline was so excited she had to play with the squares. She picked out about 25 “favorites.” Thanks Barb!

Wesing - I had sent a dozen or so candies to my almost 6yo gd a couple of weeks ago. My daughter says they are so frayed but she loves playing with them.

Yes, I'd love to continue the swap!
Been keeping busy here. Reduced some bean bags to fit inside some barrel chairs for the front porch.. such a loose beans mess but it was worth the clean up. The exterior house painter power washed & scraped one wall, sealed the shiplap openings, and is ready to begin painting Monday... currently yellow but now going with white house & John Deere green windows, doors & eves trim. The paint items were delivered & we used bleach water to wipe it all down. He said he'd finish painting before DH gets home next month. Our city had a major water break & needs repair. The state health group sent us letter to boil our water until further notice. God is Great ... I have on hand about 17 gallons of distilled water, sanitizer, bleach, etc. so I'm keeping clean. I've been enjoying going to different faith churches via online services during Holy Week, keeping up with old friends on Facebook, cooking most everything from scratch, and sewing face masks for local first responders. It is amazing how small my To Do list is becoming.
I hope all of you are well & safe... keeping you in my prayers!
hugs,
dj

Hello everyone

Looks like everyone is keeping busy. That is a good thing! I on the other hand have really accomplished nothing in the weeks that we have been in quarantine. I have good intentions every day. I haven't even removed the nail polish that is chipping away on my nails....that is pretty bad. Ok that is my priority today. I promise. Really.

Keep up the good work ladies and gentleman.

I know that one thing that has kept me sewing/quilting is my guild has been meeting on Zoom. Nah, it isn't every one but some combination of 6 or 7 or 8 and we chat and sew for a couple or four hours now and again. Good times with friends.

Some things that have helped me keep after tasks and not get bogged down are:
  1. Get up and get dressed every day
  2. Put on make-up and perfume
  3. Make sure the kitchen and bathrooms are clean
  4. Make a list, not to long, of some tasks to be done (Feed the birds, wash clothes, walk, quilt or maybe a nap.)
  5. Pick up all the "junk" that seems to grow during the course of a day and put it away. That way morning arrives and I am ready to repeat.
Nothing big and astounding on my little list but putting some order in my "stay at home days" has helped a lot.

This too shall pass. Right? Of course!

Good morning. WMUTeach, I like your guidelines for your day. My day consists of many of the same items but I have to include playtime for the pups at least two or three times a day to keep them from going bonkers. We've got lovely weather right now after a month of what felt like non-stop rain and thunderstorms so being outside is pleasant despite the pollen. Today, I hope to break into the candies I have from last year's swap and finally sort them out. What I'm going to do with them I don't know yet. Time will tell. Hope you all have a good day.

I have been on furlough from my job for the past few weeks. I'm loving it. It;s giving me time to catch up on quilting customer quilts and I actually have time to do some of my own piecing of quilts. I had about 6 quilts that needed the borders on them so I am getting them completed so they are ready to quilt. (I get them pieced as far as the borders and then I procrastinate!). I have also cut down the perrenials in my gardens that I did not have time to do last fall, and I trimmed some bushes. Spring isn't the best time to do it but I haven't gotten to it in fall the past couple years and they needed trimming. It has been pretty cold here in MN the past week. It snowed a few inches last weekend and it has been so cold this week that it is still not completely melted. It doesn't make my husband very happy. (He is a farmer!). It is supposed to warm up this weekend and stay nice next week. I am looking forward to Real spring weather. I worry about my children and grandchildren with this Pandemic. One child in Colorado (and two children) and is an essential worker in construction, one child in Rapid City (her and husband are both essential workers at a hospital and they have a 3 month old), and one child in Sioux Falls and is a essential worker at a Bank and husband is an essential worker in Ag equipment business. I worry about this child in Sioux Falls the most, since Sioux Falls is the #1 Hot Spot in the whole nation for this Corona virus!! Sioux Falls is only two hours from me. Any way, we will get through this and life will go on. I'm afraid the US will not be the same after this Pandemic. I foresee many small business closing in our area as I am not sure they will survive after being shut down for over a month. Our state is in a "Stay at Home" mode until at least May 4th. I work at a Casino Hotel and am very worried about going back to work. We have people stay there from all over the US and I fear someone will bring in the virus and we will then all get contaminated at the hotel. Time will tell. We just have to have faith that this Pandemic will end soon.
