Boom 19 - Autumn

YAY! Looks like everyone is anxious to 'play'... I'm thinking like Mona and better get my other stuff done and off the table quickly! Soon we will Boom...

I'm with you, Girls! Now don't laugh, but.......my fabric for Boom 20 is washing as we speak. I had a killer coupon for JoAnn's today and I just could not resist it! I got 60 % off the bolt price with an additional 25 % off my entire order. To good to pass up.

First of all, I just have to say how much I already love being apart of this board! I'm trying to remember all the "things" about each person, but other than the hairless chickens I'm having a hard time! I'll get there!
I have another "newbie" question for all of you... all the talk about JoAnn's... last fall I took a beginning quilt class (at a local quilt store). The instructor (owner) was adamant that the quality of the fabric at JoAnn's was not good enough for quilting. I have used it in the past for some Tshirt quilts and didn't seem to have any problem. I did notice a bit of a difference, but I'm just curious what all you think. How do you determine if a fabric is "good enough"? Or is this a personal preference?

I think it is a personal preference. I usually buy my fabric at quilt shops. QUID sells some fabric that is about the same as JoAnn's and at a lower price. I usually use my coupons for cutting blades & notions.I have bought fabric there and it works just fine.

Wow! mjp it really is beautiful. I also like the other fabrics posted by Mar & Aunt.
Here's the Hawaiian quilt I just finished. I hope this helps those of you have Hawaiian fabric sitting around. I've included some of the first FMQ I did on the used sweet sixteen I bought and my foray into paper piecing.
