Have4boys, love your pumpkin orange and how you managed to get an animal in each little block... so cute!

JaneW, nice to meet you. Sorry for what you have gone through but it sounds like you have come out stronger. Best wishes.. life can be full of adventures if we just look for them.

We have always wanted an RV. When the kids were little we tented and that was great. I am in Kidney failure and my traveling is quiet limited. Thus the only way we can safely go is to take our house with us!!! Took us 2 years to find the RV that fit us and was lite enough for our truck. I am so excited to be able to get out and go again. We don't eat out much at all and we pretty much socialize with just the 2 of us + Bugaloo (GoldenDoodle), and the kids when we get to see them.

In future trips, I plan to take my class sewing machine to quilt but this trip is all about getting used to the camper... no sewing : (

Jayne, that job sounds great. One of my sons went to several programS somewhat like that. The teachers and administrators were great. The administrator of one of the programs was waiting outside our house the first morning my son was to attend her program to make sure he got on the little yellow bus they sent to get him. I think she would’ve come in and pulled him out of bed if he wasn’t on it. My son still keeps in touch with one of the teachers.

i look forward to seeing you when you come to Encinitas. We have Two special areaS outside thAt we use to visit with friends. Once this Covid is over I’ll take you kayaking on lake Hodges.

glad to have you back! You seem like you’ve weathered the storm well

Sorry I've been among the missing for a day or two. DS#2 and DGF arrived back here a day early and we've been spending time with them, talking up a storm. They leave later today so I'll be more focused on the Booms tomorrow.

The RV bug is hitting a bit here, too. We haven't pursued it but we consider it a possible option for the future. Terriamn, I had a colonoscopy a couple of months back. Never fun but it does give peace of mind. Jayne, so glad you are back with us for Boom 25! Kudos on your resiliency with all the life changes you've had recently. Hav, neat block. MJP, I remember going to Lake Hodges many times. Fond memories of SD.

The F8s are rolling in. I thin there are 6 or 7 packages already with a number delayed in the system. Looks like several will arrive tomorrow. Until then...

Sorry the color looks so washed out. This is the way I try new-to-me patterns to be sure they size right. You know, I've discovered it's not that easy finding blocks that can be done in just two colors. I do love the look though.
Okay, Ladies, let's see some of those practice blocks while we have time before our goodies get here and we begin in earnest!

For a little early fun, I set up the gallery. It's got both groups ready to go with pix of your fabric in the individual block sections as well as pix of the blocks that have been made early by a few Boomers. If I don't have pix of your fabric yet, I added a placeholder photo of pumpkins until I receive it.

Enjoy!

"Come Monday It'll be all right,..." a songwritten by Jimmy Buffett
Hi ya'll, No, I'm not a parrot head, just trying to be witty about the word Monday. A parrot head is a nick name for those who are Jimmy Buffett fans. He was born in Pascagoula, MS and reared in Mobile.
An update on the Hurricane Sally that is approaching the Gulf coast aarea: currently it is 78 deg, 88% humidity, 20 mph, and we are under a Hurricane Warning. Precautions are being taken.
Thank you to all new friends on QB and those who have commented:
Janice, for posting my fabric photo. The ins and outs of the QB is a bit challenging for me.
Sewbiz, for the nice comments about my fabric selection and sites for patterns.
ibex, for your encouragement and hints to maneuver around QB.
and everyone who is making me feel welcome.
Janice acknowledged receiving my package.
I'm having fun already just searching for possible blocks based on all the photos and posts.
Signing off until next time,
Mobile.

We'll be thinking of our new Friend, Mobile, as the storm churns. Take care! Check in with us when you can.

I received 9 packages today so I'm 3 or 4 packages shy of a full swap. When the last ones come in, I'll be tearing into the packages and divvying them up for everyone. I love that part!
