Wow! I’ve been gone for several days and so much has happened! All The blocks are beautiful! Overwhelming to see so many.
Janice I wish I could swoop you and your family up and bring you to our home in San Diego until things are more settled in North Carolina. Watching the devastation there has been very disheartening. Terriamn I’m thinking of you, wishing I lived near enough to bring you some meals. Stay safe everyone!
I’ve been prepping boom blocks for my trip where I’ll have two and half days of sewing while my husband is at a conference. I’m hoping with my prep I can finish lots of blocks.
I haven’t been working on boom blocks but I have worked on a vest for precious fabric ‘contest’. It’s the same Sincerely Yours Fat quarters I sent to the boom except the light orange colorway. Janice if you look at the back you’ll see a hint of what I’m sending you!

So much and so many in this disaster.
I did this one for MJP - I have not brought any of my stash in from motorhome. I am amazed on what I have in the house. And so much fun finding it all again.

Terri- we need to get those bubble suits out. And it feels worse after a day goes by. Rest and hydrate and think of all the great patterns.
Janice - were any of our boom friends in the path? It’s amazing that I am only seeing photos of NC yet FL got the hurricane. Hopefully they won’t be left out. Enough of my ramblings. Stay hydrated. And this one is for you. Not as much contrast of the 4 shades that I expected.

Colors of the day and I am lucky, if I had hit that rock on my forehead, nose or even back of head this could be an entirely different scenario. Poor hubby I think it really traumatized him. But so much better off then all the victims of the Hurricane

The photos are a bit blurry and colors not "true" but the blocks are done, pressed, bagged and I have only three more to go. Two planned and one still has me stymied, but I will figure it out soon. Enjoy your blocks and what ever other project you have at hand.
Bummer about the eye, Face damage is always so dramatic but it also seems to go away quickly. Glad all of you impacted by Helene are holding strong. We can all learn from these experiences. We discover how important neighbors and strangers are and to offer from our abundance, whether it is a jug of water or dinner or a warm place to hold out.

My face has even more pretty colors today. I am like a leaf! Good news made it through the dentist visit with nothing going bad.

We are a generation of doers. We were brought up helping anyone and everyone we could. I spent later years with the ARC helping on the disasters.(and since we could bring our RV we had cookouts for all the volunteers after the 12 hour shifts)
Now - i physically can not do any hard labor! And we are so far from the area too. So I pray that those who are able step up and do it. I follow Samaritan's Purse and all they are doing. I look at the pile of quilts I have sitting here and figure that sometime in the future we can figure a way to give them out. And I give a listening ear to those who need to talk.

Good morning. Turns out I cannot update the gallery. Internet is too weak. Oh, well. And power is not on. The damage is just too extensive so Duke Electric just couldn’t make their timeline of midnight last night. We understand completely, it’s just disappointing. No generator either as the faulty part didn’t come in. Uggg. On a happy note, DH bought a new car to replace the one that was submerged in muddy water at the dealership. It was in for service when the storm hit and we couldn’t get it out. The water came halfway up the dashboard as you can see in the pic so it’s totaled. Those seats are black underneath the drying mud. The new one is the same red color and model as the old, just newer.
SBG, got your email changed. Terriamn, hope you’re feeling better. That eye must be all shades of the rainbow by now. And thank you for my beautiful red block! It’ll be perfect with the rest.

Ladies instead of more bad or sad news I have something wonderful to share. My second dd texted me and asked if hubby was by me. I said yes and when no immediate response I panicked and hubby was worse then me. Call them and find out what’s wrong now. Just then I had a FaceTime call and it was our oldest granddaughter with pictures of ultra sounds. We are going to be great grandparents. Can you tell how excited I am. Bet you know what kind of fabrics I will be sending for the next few booms
Woo hoo! The generator is repaired and purring again like a kitten! What a relief. Now if we could get regular power back, especially for those who aren’t lucky enough to have a Jenny, it would be wonderful. The crews here continue to work very hard. Cannot thank them enough!

I agree... that's a great looking block for MJP, TG!
We had such a lovely day! We were invited to a "Legacy Sunday" at the church we first were members of in this area, over 30 years ago. We saw and reconnected with so many people we hadn't seen in decades! Then they provided lunch for everyone, so we hung out and visited, well into the afternoon. It was such a sweet time. Best day in a long time....

Sewbiz sounds like a special gathering, what a great opportunity to see old friends. Wish our church from the city would do that.
A beautiful fall day in Minnesota, 59 degrees with a slight wind. I had my COVID shot today, hubby has his and the flu as well as tetanus. I will only get 1 immunization at a time. Then we went for a long ride through the countryside. Lots of leaves changing now

MMMMM another beautiful day in the Mitten State too. We are up to a blazing 64 degrees but with moderate winds. Not yet full color here. We have a couple of weeks yet in the cuff of the mitten before we will be in full color. Still lots of old dried out green. 
But they smell good, like fall. No boom sewing today. Long story but I have been cleaning out the photos from my phone and saving to my laptop. Too time consuming. but it will be nice to have my photos off of my phone in into files that I can save.
