Boom 34 Roses

It may be too much trouble for Janice to ship back to us using the Tyvek envelopes, as the costs depend on weight and distance, as she mentioned. But for us mailing to her, the tyvek envelopes will save us some money. Janice can then send back to us, using whatever method is easiest for her.
Ibex, love your fabric. It reminds me of Louisiana, for sure!
Love your first block, Janice. I really like the blue with the green.
Been working on some tops, and some blocks with my scraps for the Faux Diamonds Scrap Quilt. Those are so fun to make!

Another block done. This one with my blue batik. I used a WOW and it works just fine. I didn’t notice that the fabric is somewhat directional until I started working with it. Just ignore it and piece freely.
That takes care of the blocks I’ll need to make for myself. Just waiting for your fabrics to start arriving tomorrow.

Janice love both of your blocks, they look fresh!
WMUT laughed at the ducks, on the side of our driveway in Texas I have a mama duck and 4 babies. People are always Saying Terri one of your ducks fell over. I just laugh and say when the day comes I have all my ducks in a row the last one will be standing up.
Boy something must be wrong with me today, Cut apart a couple of Bob’s jackets for his memory bear, cleaned the sewing room, dug out a quilt top that was finished probably 10 years ago and quilted 4 years ago. Cut the excess batting and backing off, made binding and sewed it to front of quilt and have hand sewn one side down already. That’s probably more than I have accomplished in the last couple of months. Is this the start of better things to come?
I bex your fabric reminds me of sitting on the pier on South Padre island enjoying fish and chips and sipping on a frozen strawberry Daiquiri. Great memory!

I'm sorry I'm not joining you Roses this time! I had such a good experience with my first BOOM. This summer has just been a bit hectic and it seems it will continue in the coming months. I didn't want to overbook myself or add more stress. But, I'll be lurking and "oohhing and ahhhing" as you all start posting blocks. And I'll look for the next swap...
Happy sewing!

Good afternoon, and it is a good afternoon! I got a lot of Roses work done and the gallery is now open for you. There isn't much to see but there soon will be. You will find the link in my signature if you don't have it bookmarked. Also, my spare room is set up to start receiving your packages and my notebook is at the ready for tracking all manner of weird items I track. We're in good shape at this end with at least 5 packages on the way already. woo hoo!
Hi Michelle, glad you stopped in. Not to worry, there will be a space for you in the next swap if you are so inclined to join and life has settled down a bit.
Off to add a couple of more photos into the fabrics page so that will be up to date for you.
Have a good evening.

Love the blue and white block, Janice. Both of your blocks are beautiful. My package was mailed today, so hopefully will be there soon!
Michelle, please lurk and talk to us once in a while! We'll see you next time.

Well, after a summer chasing instructions on how to put the circling swallows together, I finally found enough direction on Inklingo to give it another go. The first one I tried for Boom 33, I put it together 8 times. This black and white one is my second for the summer but not much success beyond the swallow sections. That’s where it gets tricky and tough. But no where are there any as you go along measurements. I have them now! Much better with color.
it looks like I took the picture from across the street!

Well, isn’t that pretty, GramE! I love it. Great work.

Here are nelco’s patriotic fabrics below.
Ibex, your fabrics sound fun.
I spent an hour cutting out a block from my second set of fabrics, the green/blue combo. I like them better than I thought I would. I’ll post a pic when I finish sewing it tomorrow.
Off to get a good night’s sleep.

Found the thread! My fabric is packed up but not yet ready to mail. Maybe by the end of tomorrow. I will try to upload a copy of the fabric from my new phone that I have no idea how to do things on. I may have to do it on my PC which is currently at work. I picked out a coastal themed fabric with pelicans, steamboats, shrimp, fish and blue crabs. The critters are pretty colorful and set on a let grey background with fleur di lis. You can make whatever you like. I am not needing a particular color so you can be totally free. I found it at a LQS in the New Orleans area. "Designed Excusively by Fabric Finders, Inc." I figured I could lift the picture from their website but it isn't there. You will have to wait to see it. Sorry.

Neat video sewbizgirl! That lead me down a rabbit-hole of watching several of her videos...all neat patterns. I can't wait to see your faux diamonds!

I may be MIA over the weekend. Lately I have been having a hard time getting the Quilting Board Forum to load on my IPad. I am headed to Mount Holly NC for a girls weekend with my sisters, mom and Aunt. Lots of laughter, thrift store shopping and Trivial Pursuit. (Family's Favorite Game) She has also planned some paint and sip with Halloween paintings. Lots of eating which is not good on my diet (lost 25 lbs since January) I know I will have lots of Fun. Talk to you next Monday.
