Hope you get those enzymes sorted out, SusieQ. As we get older there are so many tests and Dr. visits—sheesh! But they keep us going.
Janice, all the best for your 5K. Sounds like a lot of fun at the airport.
Im at the heart Dr. this morning, waiting for him to come in and see me. Just my routine yearly, because of my blood pressure.
Have a wonderful day, All!

WMUT, great finish! Between the swap blocks and all of the other projects, you accomplish so much!
Terri, laughed that your DH suggested going out and chopping wood, my DH would probably have suggested the same thing.
Janice, good luck on the 5K tomorrow.
This week has been crazy busy for us. Wednesday, we drove to Biloxi MS for the day for "Cruisin' the Coast". We got to see lots of great vintage cars while sitting in our lawn chairs by the beach. Yesterday we received our Covid and flu shots for the season and then went to buy a new mattress. This time we went with a hybrid split king on an adjustable base. Wasn't sure about the base until we saw all of the features like a nightlight under the bed, zero gravity positions, and best of all the massage feature. I do have some serious concerns about getting the corners of the bottom sheets in position in the upper center part of the mattresses. Salesman assured me it would be easy if I raised the height of the bed (like a hospital bed) to get the bottom sheets in place. We'll see.

WMUT love all your block and fabric choices. Will compare my recipe for pumpkin bread to yours once we get settled back in Texas. I left that cookbook there
SusieQ I know nothing about liver enzymes but I can tell you after 3 years of on and off pain when they finally decided to remove my gallbladder in an emergency surgery it was wonderful. Can’t believe how much better I felt overall
We drove about an hour to checkout the Grace breeze frame. The gal there has to find out more info for me to verify it will work with my sweet 16 but the Grace powers to be are at quilt mart in Houston this week, we have to wait a little longer for all the info.

Cheese, going to retreat last weekend sure helped to get both the Boom blocks and my 2.5 Birthday Swap blocks finished. I also planned the layout for one set of our Boom blocks. Now I am digging through my basket of UFOs to find one to finish for this month. No worries, I have plenty. Like some of you I would much rather piece than quilt, so the UFO basket fills up in the blink of an eye.
Keep walking with your knee in mind, Janice. Using the airport is such a clever walking path!
Like the idea of "Cruisin' the Coast", Cheese. Again creative thinking on someone's part. I would sit outside for that. And a new mattress. I recall when I got my new "way to expensive" custom made mattress and shivered at the final $$$. I can look back now and it was worth every penny. I have an off size antique ash and burl bed that was from my Grandmother's home. I know she never slept it, because it would have been too small. She was nearly 6 feet tall. I got the small genes, so the beauty fits me just fine and the mattress is a gem. Rest easy and in style.
Hoping your doc visit went well SBG. You are entitled to a few weeks without any medical concerns, appointments or wonderments.
Keep creating everyone, I bet others are close to finishing too.

WMU- I have that recipe you gave us in the oven right now. Smells so good! I love anything pumpkin.
Janice, good luck tomorrow!
Thanks all, for listening to my gallbladder woes. Sewbiz- you're right of course. I'm such a chicken. I have no symptoms of gallbladder disease but it's there. My CT scan is Nov 6. My doctor said depending on the results she'll send me to either a surgeon or a GI doctor.

Pumpkin bread.... This time I added chocolate chips to one loaf and the second loaf had walnuts. A third small loaf was... plain. A new recipe for me. Fingers crossed that it is yummy. My house sure smells good if that is any indication.
Here is my block for today for TG.

Such a good photo of Ernie!
I finished one more block late last evening. Found it in my file of 12" blocks and just started cutting and stitching..... wait, stop, oh well, it is nothing more that a variation of the block I made for TG. Really now, it is just all about showing off the focus fabric anyway. Right? interesting how changing up the fabric and a tweak to the corners makes the block look so different.
So for SusieQOH, here is your garden of roses with pink accents.

I got caught watching the Mariner's and Tigers playoff game so only one block finished. This one is for SBG featuring her whale fabric.
Report on on pumpkin bread: terrific, flavorful and moist. I seldom make anything that comes in a large batch but this one is worth it. It makes two large loafs and an additional small loaf. I added chocolate chips to one pan, walnuts to the other and left the small loaf plain. All three were eaten with good comments and seconds for many.
I am thinking of repeating the recipe during the holiday season in small pans as little tasty gifts for my neighbors. Guessing I can get 6 or 7 loafs. Recipe link:

One more for tonight. This time the block 'tis for Travelinggramma. The photo has bleached out the color of your focus fabric, but it is your light orange, terracotta, turmeric or what ever name you want to assign to it. Maybe it is creamsicle?
Wowzers your fabric looks pink and the turquoise looks like summer blue. Boo hoo, now you will have to wait to see the real colors. I will try again in natural light in the morning. That may be better.

Good morning, Roses! I made 3 blocks yesterday.

Janice, if I traveled to NC it would be to hang out with you. I have enough fabric to last 9 lives!!!!!!!!!
What a nice offer though.
Lovely blocks, everyone!
Terri- I wouldn't wish panic attacks on anyone. They are horrible. Janice is right about recovery not being linear. Our minds are so complex. Sometimes I wish that wasn't so.

Good morning. It’s cool and dry here making for another fabulous morning.
I see I’ve fallen behind in posts. I’ll catch up with the gallery today. Lovely blocks, one and all.
Any Boomers want to take a drive to WNC for some fabric? As most of you know, I’m helping a friend dispose of his wife’s stash. Until yesterday it was scraps and patterns. Now I’ve got three large laundry baskets full of gorgeous fabric and this is just the tip of the iceberg that’s floating my way. I’m in awe, and not in a good way. It makes me terribly sad, having all this because his wife is so ill and unable to quilt anymore. I’m going to take the vast majority to the Quilt Guild but I don’t relish seeing all this picked over but it’s necessary. Anyway, I’ll do the best I can to find it new homes.
Have a lovely day, Boomers.

I was counting my blocks last evening and came up short two. Looked at the gallery and found the missing one. It got buried under another piecing project with its bag and little slip of directions. So.... Here is a bit of Thanksgiving gobbling for Lstew.
One more block to go!
One more block to go!
Oh, my, Terriamn! If it helps, a poor unsuspecting piece of crockery will give its life for you. I can only imagine the look your hubby gave you. Maybe it’s worth a try once though???
WMUTeach, congrats on finishing your blocks and quickly locating the missing packages. Woo hoo!
Tomorrow I walk a 5k at the airport. You can plane watch while walking. I’ve done it twice before but this is the first time post knee surgery. Hope the knee holds up or I’ll be waving down the guy with the cart to take me off the field. Now that would be embarrassing! I wonder about the passengers on the planes and what they think seeing 1000 people walking on the adjacent runway.
Have a good day.

This was a long week. My FNL is out of the nursing home and back in his home where he is much more comfortable. The dr did mention putting him on hospice. The Dr. explained that he would qualify for many more services, it doesn't necessarily mean he is dying. He could stay in hospice for up to a year. After the nurse came today, they ordered him a hospital bed, a raised height toilet seat, nursing care once a week and a home health aide to come in once a day for five days a week. The aide will be there for about an hour, to help with bathing and meals. I have 10 blocks to finish, hoping to get some sewing in over the weekend as we are supposed to get rain.

Good evening. Hope everyone had a good day and is looking forward to a pleasant weekend. Tomorrow morning is our little 5k but the afternoon is wide open. I suspect it will include a nice nap. I’m going to finalize what I’m giving away to the guild next week. I’m keeping too much so paring down a bit more is needed. At heart I’m a scrappy quilter so I’m keeping scraps and some backings. I just don’t have the room for more.
That’s it here for the weekend although I feel the need to make pumpkin bread. I have you to thank for that WMU! Lol. Might try your recipe on Sunday.

Ltsew, sounds like there is a plan in place for the immediate future of your FIL and that’s always good.
I am terrible with mattresses, I twist and turn all night but basically stay in the same little section so it eventually becomes like a nest. That dip is terrible for my back. Looks like we will need a new one again and soon. 🥲 wMUT your bed frame sounds beautiful.
The gal called me back on the cutie breeze frame and it looks like my sewing machine is compatible. Will wait till spring when we are home to purchase it. Hubby was impressed with all the pieces Not! Told him it would keep him amused for hours and I would just wear my ear plugs.
If the weather cooperates we plan on leaving Wednesday. Today I will pack up my sewing machine. Every year we try to decide if it’s better to bury the machine under things in the car or make it accessible and bring it into the hotel.
Waiting on the good news from Janice and how her knee held up

Back from the walk and survived it. That’s the good news. The bad news is that I did too much walking pre-5K - over a mile - and my knee started swelling half way through. I ended up turning off the course only about 1500 feet from the end. I was disappointed at first but then realized I actually walked farther than the course itself. I’m turning it into a personal win. lol. It was fun. Close up to all the aircraft during takeoffs and landings! The grands and their parents were there with us so it was a good morning for all.
Today is a football and MotoGP day so lots of reason to relax on the couch. I’ve begun hand quilting a “Welcome” piece for the front door. ( It’s out of the weather in a vestibule so it won’t get hit by the elements.) It’s one my quilter friend started and never finished. She appliquéd the letters and stopped. I hope to finish all but the binding this weekend. (I machine baste and pull the stitches as I hand quilting it. That’s why you might notice the curved machine sewn lines.)
Off to the couch! Enjoy your day.
