Mine are 4" (4.5 unfinished) squares the quilts are about: the green one was 52x64, & the purple one is 44x58
not big enough for a full bed, but my son prefers it anyway... ideally it is small enough to take in the car on trips, big enough to fully cover up, watch movies on, and such.
I really like the border on the green one.. it took a while but adds fun to the overall look, my son is also great at puzzles and such so I wanted smaller pictures and more challenging for him.
My niece is still to young but likes to use it as a play-mat and looks at all the pictures.

Katvert, They're really great, blocks and borders. Faren's avatar is another way to go. As a relatively new quilter, I think I could handle the quilting and the piecing using outlining and stipple on my sewing machine.

I am planning on doing one like Katverts purple one. Just joining the 6 inch squares and adding the borders. It is going to be for my two year old niece. I think she will really enjoy looking for all the pictures. Also the first one I am planning on quilting myself.

How is your assistant doing? Hope all is well after his surgery.
Just watching to see everyones plans for using the squares. Since I haven't a clue as to what I will do yet, keep the ideas coming.
Awesome job Katvert on the ones you have already made.
