It never dawned on me that notions would mean something different in other areas. I'm glad you figured it out! Do you call them accessories, or is there another word to lump them all together?

I have friends in Manchester and Scheffield (not sure if that is spelled correctly), and we have often times had good laughs over English-to-English translations
To be fair there are many states in America that get far worse winters than the week we have just had. The difficulty is that our houses, infrastructure and cars are just not designed for that weather so when it strikes the country grinds to a halt! Plus us Brits do like to make a fuss about the weather

I think we would call them accessories - certainly that's what shop signs etc say anyway. The english to English translations can be fun!

Wow you ladies are all on the ball. I'm still waiting for what I ordered to arrive.

BUT.....I like it, so I hope my pal does, too.

My secret for today: you make the types of quilts I have never made, but I did join a swap to start this type of quilt.

    Well...catjo isn't my pal either. Harumph. I don't think I have a pal. ROFL.

My pal likes the types of animals that live in the woods....the kind that goldilocks was involved with

Verna was my SP! I got a lovely package for the month that included so many things. I got handmade soap from her daughter that smells wonderful! I got a special Quilting Diva pattern for hosting last month. I got some 30's reproduction yardage, rotary blades, a huge spool of thread, an address book, hand sanitizer, bobbin keepers, an adorable plastic snap container with some very strong and interesting clips. Verna also gave me a hand-crafted embroidered leathery mirror compact that she made herself.

Thanks you very much, Verna! You went above and beyond!

Only thing is.....where did you hear those facts about Garland, Texas? No encyclopedia and a fine for barefooting?? I work for the actual City itself and those facts are unknown to us. Where did you find that?
