I'm a Thanksgiving traveler - will fly to California and 'Give Thanks' in person to my dear (81 year old) mother and father! It will be a very traditional turkey dinner to suit their tastes. I'm tasked to make the stuffing as I put everything but the kitchen sink in there and everyone loves it - LOL.
Plans are to go to the LQS with mom and let her select fabric for the quilt I plan to make her - woohoo! And then, of course, shop for Christmas gifts as well. All while enjoying the beautiful California weather Then it's back to Virginia to face old man winter
One Thanksgiving tradition we used to do early November, when my (adult) kids were young, was to post on the kitchen wall a long, empty, numbered list, from 1-100 - titled "What We Are Thankful For" with a pen hanging so as we each pass thru the kitchen we could easily post our gratitudes through the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Day. Of course the obvious posts were family, health, etc.. But over time the littlest of things we are thankful for would be posted and remind us of how fortunate we are. Now, I have a group text thread started as we live a distance from one another - old traditions can stay alive albeit with current technology! Perhaps I should post on our thread that I'm grateful for the technology that keeps us close? Hmmm..
Any traditions your families share?
Christine

Haven't mailed my sp package out yet
And haven't decided what I'm doing or where I'm going for Thanksgiving.
I know I'm not cooking this year tho lol. Hubby going hunting of course, Daughters are scattered, Sister is going to relatives 3.5 hours away....Don't know if I want to make that drive.
Oh well
