Scrappy and White 9 Patch Block Swap... signups close Sept 20!
#91
I've been watching this thread and I have a question Sewbizgirl . . . . I'm looking at the picture of your blocks and I see repeats on the blocks in your stacks. Are your stacks sets?
I thought I would have difficulty finding 50 different fabrics in my scraps to compile in blocks. Seems I don't have a thing to worry about . . . . silly me!

You can do less than 10 sets, in which case you would need less different fabrics. This is a great opportunity to use up scraps. That's what I'm trying to do.

Okay, here's my set #8. I'm trying so hard to get all of them done before Florence hits us. One path shown has it coming straight through Charlotte. I remember Hugo and I sure don't want to see that again. I've stocked up on water, so I should be okay without power for a little while. I don't wish anybody in upper NC any bad luck, but I sure hope it doesn't come this way!

Thanks sewbizgirl. I hadn't thought about doing the blocks that way; I was visualizing doing them one bag at a time. I'm still pondering 50 different fabrics . . . although I do scrap quilting most of the time, I had never counted the different fabrics that went into them. I just pull fabrics from a sack after cutting them to size, counting for a four-patch, 9-patch or 12-patch. Fifty seems so many.
Each block in a bag needs to be different, so a bag of 10 blocks will have 50 different fabrics, plus white. At this point, I haven't mixed my sets up. I'm doing ten of a kind, and will mix them up when done, so each set has 10 different blocks.

Thanks for the welcome!
Libster, one of my blocks will have your center square in set 9.
If I can remember, I won't use that same block in my 9 patches. I have one set finished. I'll try to take a picture.

Sunrise, nobody will ever notice that it's the same as mine. Chances are that it will be in a different position anyway. I do like that fabric.
