Oh my gosh...I just love the block. Snowmen still fill my heart from childhood. I can't wait to get mine finished (and it will be hard to let them go) so I can get many different ones for my wonderful quilt. Should we or should we not post pictures until we get some back? Would love to see what others are doing.

I would love to see pictures ... anyway you all could share the photos or are you all not doing that until folks receive their blocks?
CraftsbyRobin, I finished one block for the Snowman or woman or children or family swap. For two years I was BOM for my guild and one year I had calendar blocks for the year. This Snowoman was for January. However, the guild blocks were 10-inches finished. Since our swap is for 12-inches finished, I had to figure a way to introduce another 2 inches, plus seam allowance. I came up with an attic window setting. She is Snowy Quilter, rushing to turn in her last block for the swap. I see her through my sewing room window. I hope my block gives you some ideas. Belles

It is a fabric that that was popular about 8 or 9 years ago...a group of Amish quilts displayed on a white fence. I cut out a 2.5" and 3.0" "quilt" and put a back on so it can be 3-D. I have a couple of dozen such small "quilts", so each participant in the swap could receive a different "quilt". When I satin stitched Snowy Quilter's mittens, I inserted the finished 2" x 2.5" "quilt" under the mitten. I tried to purchase small blue or brown buttons for her eyes, but neither Joann's or Hancock's near me had small enough buttons of any color. I might try Hobby Lobby, because satin stitching those small blue circle eyes is a test. Also, I'm going to shorten her "Pinocchio" nose.

Based on the absolutely affirmative feedback I received from all the wonderful people on the board, I will make the other 11! I hope the swappers who receive her will be pleased. Belles

I would certainly be pleased and proud to own one of your beautiful blocks as I am sure everyone else in the swap will be also.

Barbara,

When I use the term "freeware", I mean stuff that I can find that are not specific "patterns" to purchase, but are free images that I can use for myself without getting into trouble and stepping on creative toes. There are no "copyright" issues to deal with that way.

I hope that answers your question.

Yes, thank you. Do you design a lot of blocks? I am working on a snowman. If I am satisfied I will share it.
