What a great job. I suppose we all have our own ideas on how things should be put. After I do something new to organize (which is the big "O" word me; like the big "E" word for me - exercise, that is), I find that it takes me a little bit of living with it before it becomes perfectly workable for me. Your husband is definitely a keeper.

Yesterday we went to a thrift store looking for a rolling cart and I found one for $8.40. It has two shelves underneath it with a nice handle. I’m not sure how we will fix it up but I know I want him to add hooks for some of my rulers. I want to thank you for your great idea, I will show pictures when I’m finished with it in a few weeks.

I really enjoyed working with the small ironing station, adding and removing stuff, figuring out what I need and where to add what. DH is finalising the details on the sketches, and then he will start to build the new one. [LEFT][COLOR=#222222][FONT=Verdana]Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions!

I like your ironing station, but I would only keep ironing supplies on it.

One word of caution, I learned the hard way to keep any glues a long distance away from oils. I keep them in different areas of the sewing room. Luckily I did not use glue to oil my machine.

I also wonder about the tools, markers and cutters. I find that old dishwasher utensil racks (the ones that used to sit in the bottom rack), work well for tools that I can move from station to station, I put a piece of card stock in the bottom of each section to stop things from falling through. Where are you working when you mark your fabric? Where do you use the cutting tools?

Perhaps the wheels make the tools being stored here a non issue, but I like to have my quilting rulers at my cutting table, my LA rulers near the LA (it is in a different room). My cutting tools where I will be using them. I keep small scissors near each station.

It is quite clever. I have an ironing board set up in tv room. I like to move to another place and if I have a lot to do, I can watch part of a show.
