Thanks! I used to crawl under the tables to unplug my machines from power strips. One day I looked at it and thought "I could put that on the wall". Most of them even have holes in the back so you just put nails in the wall and hook them on.

I'm thinking of fastening on under the edge of my table to keep the power strip off the floor and out of the way of the dogs. My husband has some super strong velcro that he uses for car stuff. I'm going to ask him to help me mount one with that.

I have to try this, too. Yes, the crawling under the machine table is getting harder all the time.

My DH said to me the other day, "How is it this room keeps getting smaller?"

It is about 14 x 14 and I'd be happy if it was bigger. The only good thing is that you never have to go very far between the cutting table, the sewing machine and ironing board...like about 4 steps.

It seemed like a good size when I first got it. Now it feels really tiny.

My sewing room is upstairs and it is 15 by 20, and not big enough.ha. My 12ft. longarm takes up at least 3ft on each side plus 5ft for it, that is 11ft. plus at least 3ft on each end. They take a lot of room. I'm crammed in that room with sewing machines, a big eating size table for working on, a serger, no room to iron. So make your choices.

Wow! Thanks for posting those measurements, it really puts into perspective what size room is needed for a 12 ft frame- 11’x18’ sounds like a bare minimum of space requirement for it.

Oh my...I can so relate to you and your situation. Many years ago, for over 2 years, I happily sewed in a camper shell that was on stilts while we waited for our house to be completed. Another time, I sewed all of the curtains and seat covers for our "Pearl" while staying on the 36' ketch. My sewing room is now in a very small loft of our tiny cabin. Please send over any more suggestions for sewing in tiny spaces. I could use some tips. Thanks!

I turned my dining room into my sewing room. It is roughly 11'x15', with 3 machines in cabinets, a Featherweight card table, and a serger on its own table. My grandma's china cabinet, a book shelf, and a folding cutting table is in there as well. It is not enough space. My home is an open-concept so right around the corner in the livingroom is my Singer 301 and my ironing board gets set up along the staircase going up to the loft. There is a small pressing table between the Featherweight and my treadle machine. I suppose if I did not have as many sewing machines there would be more room, but where is the fun in that! LOL

Go as big as you can, especially with a long arm.

I SAY, MAKE THAT ROOM AS LARGE AS YOUR MONEY WILL PERMIT. You'll grow into it at some point. Plus, if you have a nice large room, you can have your friends over for sewing days. Which is always fun.

My "sewing room" is 10' x 10', with a closet the length of one wall. It holds a huge sewing desk, bins of fabric, several small rolling carts, ironing board and a smaller piano.(this needs to go) I have my serger and currently one sewing machine in that room. I use my living/dining area as a studio, and have a cutting area in the garage and some additional fabric bins out there. I can get away with the living/dining studio setup as my kids are grown and I'm divorced. I can get up to 8 gals in my living room sewing as I have a conference table I got from a LQS when it closed. I have 5 sewing machines total, and have the gals use them when they come to sew QOV. It would be even more fun IF I was willing to eliminate the sofa. LOL Actually have thought about selling it and downsizing to a mobile home size sofa. No one ever sits on it anyway. I have this place for my enjoyment. and enjoy it I will.
