Not going .. went to Chicago .. still bumming about it changing cities.

One more tip... Use a fanny pack , a purse gets real heavy with all the packages, and you want your hands free to look at all the "great Stuff".

I'm going. I'll be there Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I have a class with Linda Taylor long arm quilting on Friday morning and I am so excited I can't stand it. We eat in the GRB lunchroom - we don't want to waste shopping time trudging off somewhere else - LOL. If you sign up for a class, you will be given a name tag and you can come and go all over the convention center with that tag. I carry a tote and only the necessary things like money, credit card, driver's license, my list of things I want to look for, and lipstick. If you are flying you should bring only old clothes to wear then throw them away so you will have more room in your suitcase for goodies that you have purchased. I mean throw away socks and undies, too. Gotta make room. I have only one more thing to add - changing shoes 2 or 3 times a day helps relieve your back, legs and feet. You can keep your extra shoes in the package check if you don't want to tote them around. I commute from home all 3 days with my friend from Brenham in tow and my friend from Liberty meets us there. I am also on the Quilt in a Day forum and a few of us have been meeting at the quilt show the past several years. So much fun!!!

If you are coming from out of town, welcome to our city. I hope you enjoy your stay and particularly enjoy the Houston Int'l. Quilt Festival.

Hi I am planning on attending the Houston Quilt Show, my best friend lives down there and if her house doesn't sell by then we will go. We have planned on going for the past 2 years but some kind of sickness happens to one or the other of us so we havne't made it yet but are planning on getting there this year.

I mentioned it to my husband earlier this week BEFORE he went to Houston for business. Then today he emailed me his travel agenda and darn if he doesn't have to go to Houston the same week as the Quilt Show! So I'm going too!

I'm so glad. I went last year (1st time) and loved it. Plus we are staying at the Hilton which is right next door to the convention center. I know from last year to bring something to carry all my stuff back.

Yes, the valet parking is at the convention center. Just look for the valet parking sign. I know the cost was $10 for several years, but it may have gone up. I didn't have to pay last year (my DS paid for it), so didn't pay attention.

I will add my welcome to all out-of-towners and hope that you all have a fantastic time here.

Plus free breakfast and free parking. I wanted to ask someone mentioned about Valet parking is that at the Convent. Center? Do you know how much that is? None of us has ever been!!!!!!
