I'm using decorative stitches that are in my machine. I love the chance to use them when ever I can. I have a Pfaff 2144, so yes, it does embroidery, too. Thanks for the compliments.

Patti, This isn't really quilt related (well it sort of is) but the guys that are Quilt Techs at the prison are in the protectve custody (PCs) unit. They wear a dark green uniform & the general population wears navy blue. The past few years have seen a change on the colors that are being shipped to us so that now, there isn't much difference in color. The onitors in the individual housing unit control towers are B&W, so there is NO difference in them. Well, our laundry lady came up with the idea of lime green for the PCs. We are starting to get them in & distributed. I love the color!!! Some of the guys do, but most don't - too bad. Now they show up in B&W as light grey.

I love lime green with just about any color, but especially in this quilt with purples & pinks.

I'm posting a revised pic as the first one was a little dark. I have adjusted the brightness a bit. The purple was way too dark. This is way much better.

OK, MaryB, just how did you get your decorative stitches to end perfectly at each corner????? I love the effect of the stitches, especially using them to replace the reverse applique band. So cool!

At the top of pg. 11 is the picture I first posted this morning. It is so dark, I decided to fix it & re-post. The border is a very pale lavender. It shows up better on page 11. The purple hearts were also too dark. They are all the same batik, but the pattern is so spread out, they look like different fabrics. Just one of the things I love about batiks!!!

Went back to look. The colour shows up much better in the middle of the second one. I love those Batiks that have splashes of colour in them you get such a lot for your money

Mary, your block is gorgeous and what a great idea you had for the stitches! I need to work with mine a bit more...seems all the capabilities of the machine are getting wasted in my house. It can do SO much more that what I do with it. You are a great inspiration for that...and really clever too!

Kathy..I bet those guys aren't really happy about the Lime...but hey, I think we should make them wear pink and nerd clothes...they might think twice about doing things to end up inside there if they knew thats what they had to wear! You know pants up under their arm pits (and pulled UP!) shirts with buttons and buttoned up to the top of the collar...I'm betting they'd like that less than the green!
I'm really beginning to expand my ideas on color...:).
