I agree, the embroidery really adds something. I hope it doesn't "ruin" me for my other quilts!

Judy and Pat
You have chosen beautiful colors. Great job. I agree, the embroider really does make the difference. It completes the block. Now, I can't wait to see the next set of 16, 14, 17, and 18. They certainly look very involved. It should be fun.....

Well, if you're interested some of us were talking about doing The Little Brown Bird. I wasn't all that gung ho, until today as I now have a copy of it!!!!! OMG, it is beautiful! Blocks are 8" and the setting is something else. Think of AOTH as a training ground in applique AND embroidery for LBB. Just might consider freezer paper applique for it, though some of the pieces are teeny. Will have to see. I still have a long way to go on AOTH, even though I have the center almost finished.

BTW, glad you understood what I was talking about on the QAYG method. I haven't refered anyone here to it as the one picture that helps you see what's going on is not of the blocks she was using all along, so you really can't tell what she did. I took a workshop on these reversible quilts several years ago, but can't find the handouts to save my life. I love the way you put this all together and when the block is done, so are you!

Because this is a wall hanging, I'm not worried about stitching the edges of the battings together. Didn't do it on the 2 quilts I made my BFF's kiddos either & they're still holding up. These are at least 5 years old, maybe older - can't remember. Darn CRS!

Hah Kathy....SHAME ON YOU for being such an ENABLER!!! LOL!!! LBB my foot! You are just trying to stir up yet another group sew before this one even starts!!! :D:  LBB is really, really involved though and I think will still be over my head even if I do get "fairly" acceptable with my hand needle (toothpick) turn applique skills.

DH is still saying..."where oh where does ALL the fabric that you bring in here really go?? I never see any completed quilts..just lots and lots of blocks!!" LOL! He is right. I MUST finish up some quilts this year.

Lol, pat and Kathy, you made me Google LBB, here is a link for the Little Brown Bird book on Amazon, shows the quilt if you "open" the book for those like me who were wondering.

And just for the record, NO is my answer.

Kathy, I was wondering if you could post a photo of some of your blocks quilted. I am having a hard time envisioning that part. Talking about putting the cart before the horse
