I have forgotten which denomination has a womens sewing circle called "The Dorcas Society." I think it was Baptist because I remember my grandmother going to the Dorcas Society every Wednesday afternoon at the church. Perhaps Dorcas wasn't a last name

Dorcas was a seamstress and Martha was a good home maker in the Bible. This could be a name for the group of ladies who quilted, sewed and learned to be good housekeepers.
