Now THAT is a great idea. I will adopt it immediately. I have small space and try not to work on more than one project at a time. This will make it easier if I do want to try two or three at a time. In case this message gets away from the person I was "talking" to...the idea of baskets for each project. Simple and effective.

Enjoy your mess. I sew in a 42' motor home so you can imagine what a mess I make. When I still lived in a house I had a 400 sq sewing room, so you can see how much I had to scale down. Trust me, when you live in a RV you don't waste an inch of space!

Don't all sewing rooms come with doors for quick "cleaning"-as in hide it away? I have no sewing room/area-it's get it all out when starting and put it all away when pausing!

If you aren't sewing, your aren't making a mess. (my "ism") I love it! You can spend hours "neating it up" and never sew anything.

Would love to see your crochet and knit things. I am a new knitter and a struggling crocheter. Thanks for sharing. Y

That looks like my room after cleaning. It just seems to restack it self after it is straightened out.

In my house there are 2 quilters. We each have our own sewing space and we also have a shared space. We both have to have at least 2 projects going at a time so we don't get bored with one plus we usually have a shared project out as well. The shared space gets pretty messy really fast when we both are working on our individual projects and our shared project. We try to straighten up regularly, but.... Once every 3 or 4 months we do a serious cleaning and organizing. I just always remind myself that creativity knows no bounds so why should my projects. Ha!

Amen Cyn, the part about creative minds. As long as I have space to work, that's what matters. Too neat wouldn't allow for creativity in my studio!!
