Got my B&W swap blocks
#54
I received 11 B&W blocks today. I am missing a block. :( Will post a pic as soon as I can. Have several that don't have names on them. Will contact Collete to see how I can get my other block. The blocks I have are terrific!

I just got back from NY and a 5 week visit with my son, DDIL and my grandsons. I forgot you are a NY girl too. Next time I come up I will contact you and maybe we could get together and do lunch or something. My son is only a 30 minute LIRR ride from Manhattan. My DH and I use to live at the end of Central Park on CPW. We had an apartment for 7 years and I worked in Midtown.
First off, lucky you!! I am not really a black and white person but these blocks are so lovely I think they have changed my mind.
Secondly, I love your idea with the flying geese. I think the accent blocks would look great in primary colors with the black and white. Love the quilt name by the way.
Also a nice idea to do two for a raffle for those who participated. what fun.
i've been toying with the idea of doing a play on traditional vs. contemporary.
i'd break the set apart and use maybe 3 or 4 very traditional blocks, then i'm thinking to make a winding path of flying geese out of very vibrant colors. the path would go from lower left corner to upper right corner - basically a freeform curve of flying geese.
along the path i envision off ramps of flying geese that will circle around each of the 3 or 4 traditional black & white blocks.
i'll call the quilt "The Road to Tradition"
maybe i'll make 3 quilts like this - i'll keep one for me and then raffle off the other 2 tops to the people who were a member of the B&W swap.
what do you guys think about this idea?
