Great find!

Thanks for posting - I usually look in the men's shirt section, sometimes in the ladies section, but never if the kids area - That will change now!

WOW! Nice finds. Why are there no fabric or quilt stores where you live?

Patchworking/quilting just isn't popular around these parts, if you go 100 miles north or south, it seems to get more interest...just not where I live...it was bad enough when I was living in Spain, but even worse here grrrhhh!!

That is a Wonderful idea...thanks for sharing that!! There are a lot of families going thru hard times and it's great to find other ways to "build a stash"

Oh yes, better not to say, I was at a yard sale and had 4 mens shirts, mind you they were 50 cents each, the lady said "I hope he likes the shirts", me being a gabby sort at times commented " Oh they aren't for anyone I'm going to cut them up for a quilt" She had a look of shock come over her and grabbed them back and said"those are way too good for that" !!! So I learned to never divulge my secrets LOL

Great Haul Izy. I would have loved to have seen their faces. You know when you have made a quilt out of all your finds you should take it along and say remember all those dresses and baby clothes I bought, well look what I made tee hee.

Do you know Gaigai, that's EXACTLY how I feel, I get a buzz out of finding items that are 100% cotton for a fraction of the cost of actual quilting fabrics and it is unique, the little girls dresses probably only yield a fat quarter of fabric but between 49p and 99p each, how can you not love 'em!! I do try and find the LARGEST garments I can first tho tee hee!!

AND I am doing my bit for the environment, mind you, when I tell the shop assistants not to worry about folding them up neatly as I will be cutting them up soon, they nearly have a fit, saying what a waste....as patchwork just isn't popular here, they don't 'get' it!!

Did not realize that there are few quilter's over there, but you did very well at the charity shops. When my friend came over here to visit, she loved our thrift stores and especially loved our garage sales!
