    It's a beautiful quilt so far, and your suggested border of appliqué sounds pretty, but it's interesting when you do a search very few images have appliqué along with that particular star.

    I pieced diamonds like the purple of my star fabric with white background to make mine a bed sized quilt.(see avatar)
    and I set it on point.
