I might exchange the dark block in the lower right with the light one in the center. Hard to visualize, but it would seem more balanced to me.

Newbie or not, always trust your eye! Most of us have put quilts together the "right" way----only to wish later that we'd done it differently since we'd like it better our own way! :)

Why don't you randomly move them around until you have an arrangement that you like? For me, I'd have to balance the black in all four quardrants of the quilt until I liked it, or the black will overwhelm the pinks....

I think you can just click 'reply', add your new post and new file attachment from 'browse' option once the picture is on your computer. Don't use 'quick reply', click only on 'reply' from a post to give full options. Hope that makes sense.

here are some more arrangements that I have come up with. #3-I know that the black square on the bottom is wrong, I can't believe how many I did wrong. LOL! Anyway they are now fixed. So please give me your input on these layouts. DH likes #1, I am not sure yet which one I like.

I love, love, love #2 in the new arrangement photos. It looks so planned and beautiful! I'll be watching to see what you decide.

Keep moving the blocks around, take pictures and view several at a time, elemenating the ones you don't like.
You'll soon decide on the setting you like the best.
Be sure to distribute the colors evenly.

Rearrange starting with your 5 Raspberry Arrow blocks, place one in each corner, one in the middle. Then see where the lighter colored blocks look best.

Also, in the top photo, bottom center block. The lower right corner needs to be turned. If you wanted it like that - wonderful :) if not, it would be easy to fix it before you put the blocks together.

Lovely colors and nice blocks. I'm sure how ever you decide to put them together it will be lovely.
Thats sounds like it will work!!!!!

I like the second look the best. Maybe move the lower right corner block if you want but I think it looks great the way it is in the second picture!

I think I would take out one black. It seems to be too strong for the rest of the quilt.

Are you planning borders? What color? How many? What color binding? All this will affect the final quilt.I would detrmine that before the final layout is put together. As a newby myself I have learned this changes the look of the final quilt as well. Great job and I can't wait to see the final quilt.

I agree with Grambi. For me it is the 2nd quilt, but the center white star needs to be in the bottom right corner. Thus the black pieces would move up where the star was finishing the black that is needed there. Just my opinion. There are a zillion ways to lay one out. Do what makes you happy!! Enjoy placing the blocks in various ways till you find the look that is right for you.
Now, I see DebLuvsQuilting's design. I love the one on the left!!!

I love the second one, just can't figure out why the 4th corner is not like the other three and the center block. I think that would add more symmetry.

for some reason I am not understanding what you are saying. The blocks in the corners are the same? I keep looking at #2 to see what you guys mean but for the life of me I just don't understand.
