Ninnie, if you'd been 100% on your game, during all this, you'd be finished. I'm amazed that you're so quick, as well as accurate. Will you consider doing a tutorial for us? If Amma can do them, you can too. You already have some of the pics you'd use.

That's going to be a really special quilt! The dark blue and white look so crisp together! Keep posting pics of your progress, please!

It's a great looking block -

I hope this makes sense.

When I make a quilt with this many pieces, i do try to stay organized.
I keep all the pieces in plastic sandwich bags.

Then I only take out the number of pieces that I need for the block.

Then I lay them out and make sure they are in the right place and turned in the right directions, since placement is everything in this quilt.

then I take them up one row at a time , starting at the bottom, and placing a pin in them. All except for the top block

Then I sew the first row.

then I sew the second row, and place it on top of the first row. I pin all the seam lines, and all the seams, making sure they are turned in the right directions, being toward the navy.

there are 5 rows to this block, and I do all of them this way, and when I am done, there is the block :D :D

I now almost have the first row done, and will try to post it tomorrow.

Ninnie, you answered two of us by doing the tutorial. Pat yourself on the back. What is the name of this quilt block?

How are you feeling this evening? You're a survivor, go Ninnie!

Oh great, its so nice to see someone else does this the slow looong way like I do. I lay out my blocks exactly like you do...only I'm too scared to pin them together like you. I lay out the block and pick it up piece by piece and row by row to sew it together. I just know I'd get myself all messed up if I tried to pin the rows in a stack...my seam ripper could tell you a thing or two! Like you, with this type of block, I pin all my seams..well, sometimes I cheat and just nest them together.

Hope you are feeling well enough to do some more and post some more tomorrow! Yes...darn rain!!!
