Impressive! I have a mine craft guy in our house as well. The border fabric is perfect for it!

Knitette, I'm so glad that you posted this picture of your quilt. I am in the process of gathering fabrics for my Mindcraft quilt for my DGS. Your's is wonderful - you did a fantastic job. I wonder if it would work to use the Watercolor Fusible Grid to sew the squares. I don't want to lose my mind or life as you suggested could be a result. Sewing squares together really isn't as easy as it looks to get all those seams perfect. I believe that the fusible grid only comes in size 2 inches (or smaller), so my blocks would end up being only 12 inches vs. 16 inches. If anyone has experience with that product, I'd be interested in hearing their review.

Tell me about it, lol! I've no idea if the fusible would work - perhaps someone else can help. The key, I would say, is organisation. As you can see from the photos below, I firstly sorted on my design wall, took them off in order and numbered the piles to be sewn with beads from a craft store.

Place a pin in the left hand block so you know the order.

Numbered piles ready to go

Ready to sew together.

I did the small squares vertically - half at a time!

If you need help, let me know. Good luck!

Thank you again! Your tips are very helpful; I did more research and found a thread about the fusible grid here on this site ~ it doesn't seem to be as easy as I would have expected. I'll definitely follow your lead and advice. I'm really impressed with how well you matched those seams!
