My Festival of Quilts experience
#22
Hi there, I have just come back from a visit to the Birmingham show also. This was my first time I have been able to get to the show, and I was totally impressed with what I saw. What a coincidence - I pointed out your Deconstructing Clarice out to my husband - I loved the colours. I have some of that fabric myself.
I was totally inspired by all the beautiful quilts. And so want to stop working so I can just concentrate on quilts. But alas it's not possible. I also had a try on a few long arm quilting machines - and oh I am hooked - I so want to get a long arm.
Anyway contragulations on your entries - next time you will win

Thank you for sharing your pictures of the quilt show with us. The two quilts you entered are gorgeous and deserve to be hung with the other beauties. Can't wait to see the new creations you make are being so inspired. Enjoyed reading your comments.

HI i was a steward at Birmingham (or a quilting angel) and I spent a lot of my time showing the back of your quilt so people could see the fabric before it was deconstructed. They loved the quilt.
Your other quilts were popular as well and people loved the colours.
I go every year and work as a steward for a few days and the more times you walk around the show the more quilts appear.I'm sure they multiply at night.
Did you see those fab men quilting forgot what they were called. Was it Moroccon street quilkters with those beautiful quilts which were for sale. One man was hand couching and it was so perfect eben with a groud of women watching.
I ALSO ENJOYED THE aMERICAN qUILT mUSEUM and there quilts.
So much to see each year and getting bigger.

I've gathering the things needed to dye my own fabrics. I just need to get the Procion MX dyes and the fabric and I'm ready to go. I have the book by Frieda Anderson: Fabric to dye for. It is very easy to follow. I can't wait to try this. I also want to try the paintstiks. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.
