OMG, I am so sorry to hear this. I would have been in tears for days! I hope your insurance pays for replacing everything adequately.

Please let us know how it all turn out.

Oh my!!! I know what a mess that can be. I hope your sewing machine and books will be covered under your neighbors insurance. I am so sorry that had to happen to you. Hopefully you will get stuff replaced and get your sewing business up and running really soon.

We had a water leak in our home about 18 mos ago. It took a long time (about 6 mos) to get it all back together and fixed. Insurance covered most of the damage but of course we had to do some improvements along the way. This was a very bad time, I was having surgery which resulted in an infection as well as my dd got married, house was a wreck for the wedding.

You have my sympathy. I once had the same experience of being woken up by the sound of dripping water when the pipes burst in the apartment above me in the middle of winter. I got out of bed to find water cascading down from my ceiling through all the light fixtures :-o I was really nervous/paranoid about the sound of running water in the apartment after that for a couple of years.

I hope you can salvage all your fabric and some of your books, and that you will be able to replace your sewing machine without too much difficulty.

Having been through a flood and losing a lot I surely can sympathize with you!!! I would think that because it was not a burst pipe, but her negligance, her home owner's policy should pay for all the damage and your losses....
(((HUGS))) I know that you are probably still in shock and in the process of hauling out the damaged items.... Take pics of everything single thing that was damaged if you can...it will help in getting them replaced.
