Yes, I don't see anything tacky about this quilt at all. I bet he loves it. And just think what he will say when he is grown up and pulls it out. "Oh, yeah, do you guys remember Sponge Bob?". I have been saving my children's sheets for the longest time with the same idea of making a quilt for them---a memory quilt kind of......
