i have a question about the February block. When I follow the directions to make the heart, mine looks just like the picture given with the pattern. But aren't we going to lose the point on the bottom when we sew on the next row?

What am I missing?

Hi JanieW,
I just went to check my February row...I have about 1/4 in. on the bottom of my hearts which gives me enough to add another row......the 2 background squares that you add to each side will overlap a little once the 2 heart halves are sewn together!

Janie,
Take a look at my hearts on the first page - in the photo you'll see what I mean..

Thanks, Bill. I see by your blocks that they look the way I think they should.

Just realized I cut the red patches 2.5" wide instead of 2.25" so that's why I wasn't getting the overlap and the .25 at the bottom. Doh!

Hi Janie,
Maybe you can just fix the bottom squares for perhaps if you joined the next row with a very small margin...it may still be fine....

Hi Bill,

it's ok because I just made one block and realized right away that it didn't look right. I usually make one block as a run through and then chain piece the rest. Good thing I did this time as I only have one block to rip out and then I can just cut the reds properly and away I go!

Darn it Bill! Now I want to play too, and I have so much on my plate right now.

I sort of have mine two rows finished. I don't love them. January is a bugger! They are done for now. I may redo January but probably not. I don't want to play with those tiny pieces anymore!

March better be easier!
