Happy Easter everyone..Just back from New Jersey - had a nice weekend away - but tired and seems to have caught the flu.....I hope I feel better this week to work on my April row...
I think that changing the block style to suit your personal likes is perfectly fine and certainly adds a whole new dimension to the whole project...certainly making it an original....
I personally like the lily so I will do that one....I picked up a couple of fat quarters this weekend since I was missing a good green and yellow..but found them at Joanns.

As to Apr. block I see a freshly open white flower from above.
I think the flower is a concept as well as the pale colors . I felt the same regarding the shamrock - which I modified because it seemed too bold to me.
Just my two cents.
Will upload under "pictures" the blocks IŽve made from another online free BOM.

Ligia, I love your shamrocks, and I agree, I think that the April block not only represents a Cross but also the Lily. I had not noticed before, but from looking above, the block does appear to be a flower opening up.

Sorry I didnt see this post before.
Here is a pic of what I mean.
Depending on what I have home I use
Heat-n-bond, Freudenberg - even Pellon estabilizer
to hot stick the shape onto the background
