Those are absolutely gorgeous!!! If I could be
just 1/4 as good as those I would be grateful.
They do inspire me to try harder to imitate them.

susiequilt 03-07-2011 06:34 AM

They are gorgeous!
Makes me wonder what I am doing calling myself a quilter.
No way, no how could I ever come close to making those!
Thanks for sharing.

Looks like someoneelse killed off Sue. These are all fabulous quilts. I could just sit and stare at all of them. How wonderful to get to be there in person. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning, to think there is so much talent, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing those pictures with me. I doubt if I could ever see so many beautiful quilts in one place. How thoughtful you are to share your expierence with us.

DK 03-07-2011 07:49 AM

Thanks for posting. My pictures are still in my camera. Had a great time, also did a good job of keeping the economy going. Did not get any phone calls, so must not have won anything. Last year I won the opportunity quilt.

Since I have just gone through all the pictures and have not looked through all the attending comments .... I am sure I am being redundant:

WOW - best quilt show I've been to in a long time!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience ..... This has certainly raised the standards for all those quilt shows up-coming this season.

conniebrooks 03-07-2011 08:01 AM

They are all beautiful.....

sash 03-07-2011 08:07 AM

Wow, they are all so beautiful; puts my quilts to shame, but I keep trying. Thanks for showing.

OMG!!! DO YOU EVER SLEEP???

echobluff 03-07-2011 08:28 AM

Sorry...I was so overwhelmed with the pictures, that I thought they were all yours....my bad!

quiltgran2 03-07-2011 08:48 AM

The quilts in this show are outstanding. There are so many beauties. Too bad the sunbonnet sue thing mars the whole show for me. I don't find it an interesting or amusing way of dealing with an overload of sbs. I find it rather disgusting and think - what kind of example do we set for young children. There is so much violence in the world today - makes we wonder why we need show more and more and.....more.

soleegirl 03-07-2011 08:56 AM

Thank you for sharing. These are some of the most beautiful works of art i have ever seen....

soleegirl 03-07-2011 09:00 AM

yea i went back and looked at that after your post. that is really horrifying............

lallyann 03-07-2011 09:01 AM

WOW! Lots of talent there. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Santa Claus! He looks just as I picture Santa to look :) And I love the first one. Is that called a Tile Quilt? Its really neat. I thought the death of SunBonnet Sue was funny....even though i adore Sunbonnet Sue. Thanks so much for sharing! You were so lucky to see all that creativity in person!

malega 03-07-2011 09:09 AM

I went to that show also, and the quilts there were stunning ! I went to get inspired or thought I would be anyway. I just realized how far I have to go. It was great fun though, all by myself, with no one pushing to move on.

I did enjoy the venders and spent a lot of money. There was a vender there that had stuff like I have never seen. And she only sells online and at shows. Her stuff was all Latin inspired. So lots of bright colors. Not sure why I was so drawn to her stuff, but I was. She designs her own patterns and fabric. I found a pattern for a sugar skull quilt, kind of a Day of the Dead type theme. I'm making Halloween throws for my girls this year so this will be for my DIL.

I also went to the new quilt shop across the street from the show. She was having her "soft" opening. I will definitely be going back. She is specializing in all the new more modern fabrics, which I absolutely love. I had to buy from her too of course.

Nice job on the photos. I went on Friday and really enjoyed the quilts. It was my first time for this show, since I just moved to LV in December.

One of my favorites is the military quilt made by the former marine (male). He did it as a tribute to his fallen comrades. He has photos in there as well (it is the fourth one from the bottom). I also loved the Mariner's compass and the Judy Niemeyer star.

All of the quilts were great.

Kayaker26 03-07-2011 12:53 PM

Thanks for taking me along to the quilt show. I have only attended 1 in person and this one was better! It kinda makes me feel to inferior to quilt but I keep plugging along. Thanks again!

mustangquilts 03-07-2011 01:35 PM

All the quilts are so beautiful except the sunbonnet sue one. That quilt is very disturbing.
