Thank you for sharing, you are so fortunate. I just love the simplicity of it but yet she put her heart and soul into this quilt. Hand stitching is an art.

Beautiful quilt and what a beautiful story to go with it. When i read this to my DH his comment was on the tiny squares "geez"

Oh you are so lucky to have this. I hope you will document the story of your family and somehow attach it to the quilt. Maybe make a pocket to stitch on the back with the information safely tucked inside. What a piece of history you have.
