It's actually a cool quilt, and doubly loved by your son because it is both your work and your Moms. Who could ask for more?

That sounds like a 'perfect' quilt to use as an outdoor play mat and your daughter KNEW it!

Please finish it and donate it to a local charity. It will 'grow' on someone that way and be very loved.

No such thing as an ugly quilt. All are made with love and special care and just because I have one I keep hidden for emergencies only doesn't mean it isn't beautiful like all of yours

This is my ugly quilt. Full of awful mistakes. Even had to bind over the original binding which was red because it was such a mess. And I think I put on quite a few pounds too because it made me feel hungry for chocolate

Enjoyed this thread, and the stories! It's very encouraging to know how others feel about some of their choices in retrospect. We all strive to make our ideas and plans come to life, and sometimes we are disappointed, especially with colours. But others often judge our work more favorably. It's good to know!

I loved this thread and wish that I could add to it but frankly, your quilts were lovely. Some different, some odd, but lovely quilts. I especially loved the flying geese because I could relate to that one. My my.

Jan, our quilt mentors of a generation ago would be so proud! You've used lots of fabrics, those which were available to you.
