I have been wanting to do one of these. How big are your blocks? That was just one jelly roll plus the material for the borders??Who is the author of the book Jelly Roll Quilts? I looked on Amazon and they have several authors.
Just wondering so I can decide whether to buy one or two jelly rolls. I am itching to do a log cabin block made from jelly rolls.
Hope I did not ask too many questions.
The blocks are 8 1/2" and 4 of them make up one larger block/section. Yes, it's just one jelly roll. The pattern had only 3 x 3 sections and then said you could use the off-cuts for a pieced border insert. After I cut the all the necessary pieces there was so much left over that I was able to get another row of sections out of it. Just barely though. Don't "waste" any length on the stips more than you have to for selvedges and it's possible.

The book is by Pam & Nicky Lintott and the title is Jelly Roll Quilts.

Making a log cabin with jelly rolls is so easy!! I did one using these directions. http://www.bighornquilts.com/inspira.../logcabin.html

That pink border is just so cool!
I was worried that it would overpower the little strip of flowers on your big border, but I do believe it actually enhanced everything it came next to.
    Wonderful!
I went to the website, and looked at all of the log cabin variations. There were some I had never seen (or don't remember seeing - - which is a good thing about not remembering everything - - LOTS of stuff is all brandy new to me <g>)
I was interested that the star pattern wasn't one of the variations. (That one I could remember! LOL). That just speaks volumes about the lady's creativity and individuality ... much like you!
    Good job.

Can I play on your new machine too, or is that pushing my luck TOO far?

As for cooking - wasn't that why the takeaway was invented?

I was born and raised in Concord and lived in the area all my life except for a brief time that I lived in Las Vegas when I was 18. I work in Walnut Creek now after commuting to San Francisco for 9 years and I am SOOOOO happy about that.

Do you happen to belong to a local guild? I've been looking around at them.

OK Pam, now I'm curious - I always assumed you were from Pittsburg?

I am from Pittsburg, California, or I have lived there for the last 9 years. Not Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania if that's what you were thinking.

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, East Bay specifically is what it is called.
