Keep playing with your arrangement. Leave it for a day or to and see it with fresh eyes!

I like the 2nd lay-out, and I really like the light to dark gradation. I also like some of the triangles in black or grey or light. Could a few of the gold triangles be switched out to a different color? Just a thought . . . . I love the whole color grouping. Is there a particular line of fabric that you used?

I would rearrange the blocks mixing up the darks and lights and have the triangles all going the same way, but that's just me, I like order in my quilts.

I think for me, the color combination needs a fabric that combines the colors. Like a border that has the gold, white and black. I too would play with the blocks and take some pictures. Put them on the computer-- you will see it from a distance that way and often the needs of the quilt become clearer. I also vote for you to wait a bit to see how the quilt grows on you.

My two cents worth is to keep the light to dark gradation, keep the triangles going different directions. I notice there are a couple smaller gold trianges, and I like that difference, too; a couple more might look nice. How the finished quilt looks with your furniture could be the deal-breaker--is it very traditional, Asian, modern, eclectic? Every different style would accept the quilt differently! And in the end it is what YOU like when you look at it, so live with it a little while on your design wall, interviewing different looks for borders (if any--not every quilt needs a border) until you are happy with how it makes you feel to view it.

I think gold on dark fabric is maybe a little too much . Agree they would look better laying same direction , but other than that it is an extremely striking and dramatic hanging

I like the second arrangement, but what struck me at the very first posting is that you have such beautiful fabrics - all of them patterned except for the gold. Maybe that's why the gold jumps out at everyone. I do like the overall color combination and can't wait to see your final product.
