I have also been very good, however, my quilting friend is coming tomorrow and she said she want to do some online shopping, so we will see how well my resolve holds.
We've had that annual party since the late 70's. We've only missed one year due to surgery. Started with just family, then my husband started inviting more and more people. He doesn't do the cooking...
Actually, I just remembered that I did buy a silk sari at the SA. Unworn. Still had the sales tag: 90 British Pounds. Beautiful peacock blue with extravagant metallic borders. I paid $3.25

Great Party. I couldn't fit half that many people in my house. I love that you are willing to do that.
The sari sounds wonderful. I too would like to see it if you get a chance to get a picture.
I bought some fabric to finish a community quilt.
I'm tempted to go back to the first of the year and see just how bad I've been this year. To see what I would need to do to have a personal best next year.

I may be shooting myself in the foot but so far this year I've bought 36 1/12 yards of fabric for the stash. Now the question remains. Those fabrics that I bought for a certain quilt and then changed my mind. Do those have to go under stash buys as well? I'm thinking they do which would increase the stash purchases to 57 3/4 yards. Well at least beating that record shouldn't be to hard next year. That's a bunch of fabric. I'm sure I can manage to buy less next year. Or are those famous last words?

Famous last words or not....at least you (we) are trying to make better uses of our resources...and believe me I do get tempted at the LQS...then I come home and see what I have...I must admit doll clothes take up more fabric than one realizes so have been reducing with all that I've cut out...
I usually figure in $ spent rather than yards...haven't gotten that far in my bookkeeping yet...

Here's a photo of the Sari. The blue is much more brilliant than the photo. It's 42" wide, and 5+ yards. The zari metallic weaving is about 16" wide on the end and extends the entire length on the left. There's an additional 3/4 yard section of plain blue at the far end of the piece that is used to make or trim the blouse (did some online research) so I can use this piece to experiment a bit before cutting into the main portion.

As for today's salvation army adventure, I got a Viking Interlude machine for $20. Only 1 foot, but I bought an entire set last summer at a garage sale for $5. The sold units on ebay are around $250. Wooo Hooo!!!

Wow the sari is beautiful and you know we are going to want to see what wonderful creations come out of it. Congrats on the score of the Viking machine. Always good to have a spare.

Beautiful sari and great bargain on the Viking. Doesn't that just make your day when you run across such finds?
