2016 UFO Challenge of the Month
#71
I'm in for 2016!! Haven't counted UFOs yet. I did get a few things done last year and hope to get more done this year. I guess it's the attempt that counts! One done is one less to do. Good luck to everyone.

I haven't been in my sewing room for quite a while and it needs organizing. I easily have 5 UFO's. I'll hop on and see if I can make some progress. Right now I'm finishing a crocheted afgan.

I did a good job finishing quilts last year, unfortunately, I'm signing up for 4 BOMs this year, so hopefully if I hang here, I can still get a bunch finished this year. Without counting, I probably have about 50 UFOs, many of them being kits I haven't started on yet!

I have 16 UFO that have been stressing me out. One has been sandwiched since February, 2015, I started quilting it on New Years day. Hopefully I'll have it completed before this February. Thank you for having this moratorium, sometimes I just need a little extra incentive to get me motivated.

I'm on board. I didn't think I had more than one UFO. Then I started my list for quilt guild. Have at least 12. Surprise, surprise! Unfortunately I have since lost my list and have realized I have a few more to add to it. I know the list is somewhere in my quilt room.... My goal is to complete one a month. I did complete a quilt on the 31st of December. Felt good, but doesn't count for 2016. Another goal is to figure out how to post pics on QB. Good luck to all and happy quilting!

terriamn, how do you sandwich? I use the spray adhesive then let it set overnight. It has worked on the cotton battings fine. Not so much on that really thin poly batting. And it leaves me only having to use half the safety pins.

Oh good grief I have another project to finish. A good friend at church brought me a quilt that originally was her grandmothers. It was in terrible condition. Robin and her daughter took it apart and saved the best blocks and hand pieced it back together again about 30 years ago. Her health has deteriorated and she is desperate to get it quilted. To do the quilt justice it should be hand quilted but asked me if I would machine quilt it very simply in the ditch. Spent several hours last night removing all the straight pins they had used to baste it together, trying to add more batting and fabric on the sides. Sandwiched and basted it. Fun to discover I had made a quilt with a reproduction of one of the fabrics in the quilt.

Tkhooper I do it the same way but just don't have the room to lay a quilt out to spray baste it unless it is a smaller lap. Hubby and I are doing some rearranging and I hope to make one wall in the room next to my sewing room into a large design wall that I will also be able to spray baste quilts on.
