Lovely fabrics, Leta. And Krystyna, way to go on returning the extra fabric. I would never have thought of doing that.

I went on a cutting spree yesterday and cut up 72 fat quarters to make Turning Twenty quilts. That is 18 yards of fabric. Of course now I have to find time to sew them up, but at least they are cut and in a project bag. With the fabric I used on finishing two other quilts, I'm down 21 yards for the year. And that doesn't include the backing fabric I'll use when I quilt the tops.

I posted pics of the finished tops on the UFO thread, but here they are again:

Leta -- one of my favourite patterns for showcasing large or unusual prints is the BQ by Maple Island -- http://mapleislandquilts.com/miq-patterns/bq-nation/
I prefer the original but have also made the BQ-3.

Leta: I'm so glad you asked about your prints. I have batiks that would work in the patterns that were posted.

Oksewglad and Belfrybat: Thanks for posting the patterns.

I am so thankful for the people on this board-helpful, kind, and supportive.

Yes! BQ original would look great with Leta's prints and her black.

Connie, I agree, batiks would very easily swap out for the Asian prints!!

Thanks everyone!! I posted a more in-depth follow-up on the main thread. It's funny, though, how different patterns are suggested on the two different threads!!

I will most definitely be posting pics whenever I get these done. I'm leaning heavily towards the pic that oksewglad posted and the pattern "Metro Medallion" by Sew Kind of Wonderful (link for this on my other post). And Connie, this might also be a good choice for using up those batiks.

Now, I'm going off to bed, pondering when I will have time for all the quilts in my head, knowing there are at least two quilts coming out of that pile of Asian prints. Maybe I'll get all these quilts done when I retire....which is at least 6 years (if not more) from now.

Eeks! That is a long time for the sale. While the pondering is good that's a long time to be tempted! Good luck!

Beautiful quilt patterns (and quilts). Maple Island Quilt patterns are wonderful. Good thing patterns don't count on the Moratorium. (at least not for me).

Great finishes, Belfrybat and that's A LOT of FQs to cut up.

Cool finishes Belfry! The more I look at the 2nd one, the more I like it. I'm really taken with the visual layering in that one. Some of the individual blocks have many visual layers, and then the way you sashed and bordered it added yet another. Very nice.

Leta: Thank you for telling me about the Metro Modern link. That may work for my batiks.
