AnngelAnne...I don't like sewing with stripe fabric..drives me a bit batty trying to get/keep stripes straight. Although, I have bought striped fabric to use as binding. I like the barbershop pole look.. Plus, I believe the striped fabric has all been on sale when I've bought it!

Love that scrappy and your helper, Happylab! It's so much fun to see what everyone's doing with their stashes.

I'm really liking the job - it's not as much money as I wanted, so it's going to take awhile to replenish my emergency fund, but I'm by NO means complaining! I have already been a good influence on my team, by programming a couple of "tools" to automate some of our more tedious processes.

In the meantime, I've been playing with the threads that came in, testing to see which ones I like best before I actually start on my LoneStar. I posted the sketch awhile back, and here's my "test" version. As usual, it didn't go quite exactly as I had planned, but it's close. I think I have decided that I'm going to use more color in here too, not just the white/gray. And I'm still "on the wagon"... being broke does make you think twice... or 3 or 4 or 5 times... before buying a 'non-necessity", especially since I have tons of stash that needs to be used up.
Does test mean this doesn't have a front side, that is some sharp looking, I love it.

Soooooo, Yesterday, I hemmed 3 pairs of pants, added 6" ruffle to make shirt longer, made the presidents block, made a duffle bag for the guild.... They've all been cluttering my room for 4-14 months. Done, UFO's gone, room cleaner and organized a little. Can you tell, I'm joyful.

You were busy, petthefabric. I actually got to go in my sewing room for the first time in a while. Managed to unearth the table top and traced a bunch of quilting patterns on Golden Threads paper. Working on that muscle memory (I hope). Pat is going to play with the Vietnam boys at Harley Davidson on Saturday so I will claim the day for sewing. YAY!

Wow, really industrious and committed folks on here. I love the Oriental quilts. I've just finished three quilt tops and didn't buy a single piece of fabric for them. If I get them quilted and bound by the end of the month, I'll post pics on the UFO board.
So far I'm down another 7 yards, and if I do get them quilted that will be a total of 17 yards gone this month.
I've also started a scrappy quilt using FQs and various other scraps from my stash. The directions are still up. http://www.aquiltinglife.com/2017/06...sew-along.html. I'm about half-way through sewing the patches.

My first quilt for myself was a variation on that pattern, belfrybat. I used an uneven 9-patch in the center.

I've got another project going...yikes...pulled out my 1 inch trips to make 9P...this will be a long term fabric using from stash. The quilt below was made from similar 9P's. It's a mindless sewing project!

Then pulled out the 3/4" strips to work on another courthouse step quilt....sure doesn't use the stash fast enough!
