I'm back with one possibility: http://craftyourhappiness.com/2014/1...orial-pattern/, but they call for a lot of fabric. I think you could get around that by cutting them at the wrist and adding a ribbed cuff, ala Stretch and Sew patterns from way back (if you're familiar with those). Or you could just use a solid color fleece for cuffs, to contrast with the print.

Rob, I make neck gaiters (warmers) for the homeless at Christmas. I can get 5 from a 2/3 yard piece of fleece. This is the pattern I follow. https://uberpest.com/2006/10/make-your-own-neck-gaiter/
I cut WOF, then subcut into three pieces. Two at 23-1/2" and one at 13". The last piece is combined with another end piece so that gaiter will have two seams. (I hope that makes sense.)

They are quick to make up and always appreciated by folks who work or play outdoors.

ETA: If you have already cut up the horse fabric for mittens, you could make the gaiters from a solid fleece to coordinate with the beanies.

Rose and Belfry-- thanks for looking for things I could do to add to the beanie gifts. I think there isn't enough of the fleece left to do the neck gaiters, but there may be enough to do fingerless mittens.... or, maybe I could do the neck gaiters so I could avoid having to buy ribbing which I'd need for mittens....or maybe....LOL

I'm on a Christmas run. Not gifts, but Christmas projects I've had hanging around the house for a while. First up, my Christmas Tree. The block pattern is "All Wrapped Up" - done in 1/2 scale, using charm pack rather than a layer cake. The layout is my own, because I just couldn't bear to do a boring old standard grid with the blocks once i finished them. Started this at a retreat last November, and finally pulled it out and quilted it yesterday.

Next up - 2 more Christmas projects already loaded on the longarms, so I'm committed to finishing them this weekend (at least to the point of ready for binding).

Thank you for the nice comments about my little bird quilt. Happy lab - nice job on your scarecrow wallhanging (I love Fall quilts.) Jaba - nice swap quilt. Rose_P - I really like your quilting on the 4-Patch Posy. I had so much fun making several of those a couple years ago - it's amazing all the different looks you can get from the same fabric. I still have to finish my queen-size quilt for my bed. I ran out of the focal fabric that I made the 4 patches from and am trying to decide what to use for the border. One of those cases where I bought a couple yards without knowing what I was going to do with it and then discovering I could have used a couple more yards.:-)

Love those presents Kristakz, and that you didn't quilt in them, so they really pop out.
