This thread has inspired me to finally pull out my two unfinished projects. I turned a pile of hand pieced 3" finished 9 patches (no idea what I was thinking) I made 8 years ago into a finished throw top. And I took apart a large trip around the world top I had pieced 12 years ago, but really didn't like once it was done, and turned it into 4 baby sized tops for Project Linus. I still need to join and fold the binding and quilt all 5 of them, but things are in motion, it is great! This all kept me very busy over the weekend until the Vikings game, which by some miracle they won. Will have lots more nervous energy to burn until next Sunday night.

LOL Trudii....a stunning ending to a ball game! Would be great to see the Vikings with home field advantage in the Super Bowl wouldn't it?

Cherry sixty - sock monkey is a year old. Have no clue why he's armless! Lol! Ugh!
judy363905 - you are on the home stretch now. Good job! I love that pattern.
Altairss - good lord....you are on a roll. Congrats on the new baby in the family!!
Dedemac - Woohoo! We expect to see a "finish" soon...looking forward to seeing your work.
Trudii - CHOO CHOO!!! Looks likes you are focused and motivated! Welcome aboard!
Toda, I started the machine quilting on domestic. This quilt is bigger than I'm use to and my first this big...plus, nothing like complicating the training curve by attempting on appliqué AND trapunto. Thank goodness it is not a lot. Below is my trapunto appliqué... Got a little bit of puckering but I know what I did wrong so, hopefully, the remaining appliqués won't have that issue... About halfway done on main center of quilt...then a little embellishment on leaves of appliqué...then borders... Phew! This thing is heavy..

It would be amazing to see them play at home. Hopefully the way they won will humble them a little. A home game would mean two more weeks of crazy nervous energy to make progress on this year's projects!

I am working on my MIL king double irish chain again. It is lovely but slow going. I thought I had enough blocks to make the center and put all 49 of them together 7X7 layout and realized I needed to add another two rows to one side, just not wide enough so made more blocks Thursday and need to trim them and add them. Hoping I don't need to more rows on the other side!

Here's my first finish for 2018. I have had the fabric for years and spent a lot of time thinking and planning but never even got around to cutting into it until last week, so does that count? Except for the brown print, all of the fabric was set aside to be used together, but I couldn't decide on anything specific until it found a purpose. However far it was from a quilt, I always thought of it as a WIP. I finally put it together for a dear old friend who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has always been faithful about getting her mammos, so they caught it at the earliest possible stage and her chances are very good, but it's still traumatic. Everyone, please get your mammos!
