2018 UFO Challenge of the Month
#21
I started 2017 with 22 UFOs and finished 2017 with 23 (started 3 more, finished 3 and made orphan blocks into a flimsy). Ugh!!!
Yes, I need to keep riding the train with y'all.

I know that I have over 40 UFO's, but I'm not about to pull them all out and count them, lol. However, now that I am starting to do simple fmq, I am hoping to get more than a few of them finished up. This month, my goal is to finish up a scrappy Irish Chain I am working on, which is about a third of the way assembled.

I need to get on the train! UFO challenges make me feel guilty, but I do have piles of blocks that have never been made into tops. One is Allietare, the mystery quilt from two years ago. And I have about 80 Farmer's Wife 1930's blocks, some civil war blocks, some Pony Club blocks, and a couple of Boom quilt swaps to be put together. Then there are my unquilted tops... lots to do. Hopefully I'll have some things to post this year.

Welcome happylab as our new conductor for this UFO train. Happy New Year to all once again.
Yes, yes, yes I am on this train again. I still have the three original quilts that started last year with.
Thanks once again 'happylab.'

I'm on board! My 2017 goal was to finish everything I started! Today I finished a knitted blanket for my baby grandson. I started it last June. One day late but Done. My other 2017 UFO is a lasagna quilt I made for my son for Christmas. Unfortunately it's still just a sandwich. That will be my first official 2018 quilt UFO to complete. Other than these two 2017's my UFO list will more than keep me busy in 2018!

I've started working on my many UFOs. Almost all of them are tops awaiting quilting. I got one table runner completed yesterday (counting it for this year though). Just have the back side of the binding to finish on the one I've worked on today. Would have finished it but had to get well imbedded lint out of bobbin case. You can see the story of that on the main page.

I made a list of my UFO's last year and committed to finish them one by one....then I started Bonnie's Mystery quilt because it would use up a lot of my scraps, but Ive lost a whole month and nee another month to finish it before I can get back to my ufo's. So guess what, now I have another UFO for 2018, grrrr. Please stop me if you see me joining another BOW or BOM or Mystery on this board.....I need help.

Thanks for taking over, happylab! I haven't taken a complete inventory, but I'm sure I have enough UFO's to keep me busy awhile, and I'm glad to have this forum for some much-needed inspiration. First will be a disappearing 4-patch I assembled almost 6 years ago. I didn't like the corners and didn't know what I wanted to do differently, and pulling stitches is always pushed down the list if there's something I'd rather do. But now it's going to get done, by golly! I even bought the backing and batting and have already pulled off one of the corners. But first the Christmas tree has to come down and the Christmas village has to go back into its bookcase. 8-yr-old grandson will help with that. Then Thursday it's back to school for him and back to the sewing room for me.

Thank you Happylab for being the conductor.
Looking through the studio, I found UFO's I want finished. I decided to finish a UFO before starting someting new. RRyder, I understand getting to a point and saying what do I do next? One quilt took 5 years waiting for fabrics and skills. It did finally get finished.
The "in progress" boxes became UFO boxes and now there's no space for 'in progress". So that's where I'll start. The LA is loaded but need the panto pattern. Soon....Soon. Pulled out the BOM from last year. Made a final square and the center is together. Now borders. It should be finished this week. Then I'll see what's next.
