Battle Axe, take care. You don't want Nurse Rachet to move in with you!! We're here pulling for your recovery. Soon you'll have both feet under you and there will be no stopping you! Just relax in that recliner, tackle those bindings, watch some TV. You'll be running around like crazy in just a little while.

Hang in there BattleAxe. As bad as it may be to be housebound, follow the directions and don't make the time any longer than it has to be.

So here's a picture of the current state of the Wonky Brights, basically now I just have one seam for each 2-row set, then sew the rows together. I'm still not planning out what blocks go together, I just put my stuff in two piles, yes I will twirl around the blocks a bit but typically I just go with what comes up with what. I'll be doing that on the final row seam and then the rows themselves. I do have my Caroline block, the planned 9-patch in the bottom corner but other than that, all bets are off!

I was sort of hoping for a girl but if someone has to dress like a fairy princess it can always be me.

My dear son and DiL just came by yesterday and I showed her my secret baby quilts (I made them but never mentioned them, no pressure from me!). I've been wanting to be a grandma for so long, I swear it's worse than any urges I had to have my son She just loved the Monkey Quilt. It has Monkey fabrics and a terribly complicated pantograph monkeys eating bananas quilting design which is completely and totally lost in both the back and front fabrics. Oh well.. I still love that project and it was always intended for my own grandbaby. She wasn't as thrilled with the Under the Sea one, that's ok, I've loved doing it (not quite done yet, still stitching on the binding). She did select one of my donation quilts for a friend of her's whose favorite character is Peppa Pig, I called it "Pig Pen" because it has a large blocks of pig fabric. I made it because it is Year of the Pig and because it was a happy project.

I'll have to take some pictures after hubby is up and out of bed. That's my picture taking platform, I have rolls of heavy craft paper that make a nice work surface and quickly roll up or down and out of the way.

- our granddaughter is due on Sept 18. So you get to be a Grandma before me
I am excited she's a girl as I have 3 sons but honestly, I would have been thrilled to have a grandson. They want 2 kids so maybe I will. Then again, maybe not haha!
My other son wants kids but not my oldest. His pets are his kids.
I look forward to seeing your quilts. I just finished a quilt for the baby but it's not quilted yet. This one will be machine quilted but in the future I want to make her one and hand quilt it. That's how I started with this obsession and I still love doing it.

Grandchildren are just the best. I have 3 of each, but mine are all grown now, youngest is 14. And they all have quilts I have made for them.
,
This week I have been just kind of floating along, not feeling very motivated. I have put some new ideas in the "box" in my head for future projects. A friend of mine does a lot of charity work gifting to foster kids, and various shelters. I help her out by making pillowcases that are used as gift bags for the foster kids. And this year I am going to use a bunch of scraps or FQs to make fabric boxes she can fill with various goodies, soap, toothbrushes, knitted washcloths, etc. I figure it is a good way to use up batting scraps and fabric scraps. And I can quilt them using the fancy stitches on my new Babylock Aria. I got it last Black Friday, so it is not totally new, but the newest machine in my corral. I admire you ladies who can just grab any old scrap and turn it into a work of art. It is a struggle for me to go scrappy. I guess I was an apparel sewer for too many years, plus my mother sits on my shoulder and tells me when fabrics don't match or the colors aren't compatible. I love her sitting there but don't always like her opinions.

Everyone is using their stash in very creative ways, & I congratulate you. I havent sewn in a movie th, at least. The friend I gave my batik quilt to has come home for end-of-life care, & I've spent a lot of time with her. This weekend I'm at the Texas coast with girlfriends who ride. Most of us rode in, but it was a very hot trip. Only about 300 miles but almost 10 hours due to getting overheated & spending an hour cooling down at a gas stop. Construction also impeded our progress. Now we're all relaxing & enjoying the beach, a short walk away.

Thank you, Ok. My friend rallied yesterday but had a relapse today. I fear the end is near & I'll miss her dearly. We rode together many times & covered many miles.

Fabric can wait, your friends can't. Talk to your friends who are there, and feel the winds on you for the one who is home.

<big hugs>

I have been using my stash but also have started some new projects that needed fabric. Also, I have a hard time after working so hard on top to just use large scraps on the back. I found backing fabric at Joanns and will use that for my most recent quilt.
