I have the best intentions with my scraps too. I followed the Lori Holt suggestion and created bins by size, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, etc. but I keep putting off cutting my scraps to fit. So the “pre” scrap bin runneth over while the scrap bins are still rather empty.

In the guild is a person who loves working with scraps and selvages. I help her out. No guilt for not doing something myself with those very usable scraps. I do keep 2 1/2" strip for binding.

For our guild Christmas party I am cutting 5" squares from a bunch of scraps and each member will be getting a Charm pack of 26 squares (2 of each kind). Right now working on cutting Christmas fabrics. I plan to cut some Christmas, fall, spring, patriotic and one color assortments. We have a small guild so shouldn't take me too much time, but still "cut" into my scraps and whoa there will be over 11 yards of fabric used. Like RetiredTeacher I am the beneficiary of lots of scraps from others, but whoa that was quite a haul, Connie!

Fell off big time last week. Stopped at one JoAnn's Thursday evening and brought 3 pieces of fleece from the remnant bin. 2 of those work with fleece I already have to make a fleece blanket. I had finished several blankets and scarves before these purchases so not too bad right?

Friday morning I stopped at another JoAnn's and bought 2 -2 yard cuts at 2.99 yard and then checked the remnant bin and found 10 pieces that jumped into my cart. Half off of 2.99 a yard so not too hard on the budget. The bigger pieces will be made into baby blankets to go the the pregnancy center and the smaller for scarves for gifts and donations.

The only sewing that got done this weekend was a marble maze puzzle for a 5 year old cousin who was leaving on a long car ride today.

The pillowcases I made for the grands were washed with the white bedding with bleach and so I will make others made to send soon to replace those. Lots of projects going.

Having lost my quiltimg mojo for the past six months, Ikm just now actually making progress on a couple of UFOs that will use stash to finish. I did pretty well at not adding too much to my stash this year, but there were a couple of falls off the wagon involving a jellyroll and a fat quarter collection. Now that I seem to have my quilting mojo back, I will definitely be here next year as I try to further reduce stash and maybe even start some new projects.

Well, I tripped over the Bluprint email, and ordered 10mini cones of Pima thread in colors that I need for quilts. And I figured I might as well be totally bad and bought 2 Boundless FQ packs, 20FQs for $23. They will round out some stuff I already have.

I have quilt #52, the Summer Breeze 4 corners quilt, on the longarm and plan to get that done today, and load another one. I have 3 more waiting for quilting, and I think, 4 that need backing made, or patches sewn together. So I should be up to 60 by the end of the year. I've made 2 of last year's Bluprint bargains, so I am making progress.

You are one busy quilter! It is hard, I know from experience, when you have to purchase something to round out what you need for a project. Here's to 2020 and doing much better!

One trick I have taught myself is that I set up the longarm to quilt a design (computerized) and then I sit in my little back bedroom and piece blocks while listening for the sound of bobbin running out so I can run out and change it. I can go back and forth between the rooms checking on "Bob". This is part of my "exercise program". So I am doing 2 things at once, and this is how I can make so many quilts. Then a dedicate a day to going to the basement sewing studio to trim quilts for binding, and piece the blocks into a top. I have a Juki industrial straight stitch machine that I use for putting on borders and sewing long seams in backings, making the process speedy. We all find tricks that work for us. I get distracted easily so I try to keep a variety of projects going that I can switch to if I get tired of doing one thing. Since most of my quilts are for charity I use easy and quick patterns.

So where is everyone? And has the new thread started? I fell prey to some Bluprint bargains, and a couple other things that I have plans for. But I haven't gone shopping in a fabric store in months.
