Count an August finish for me! This past week while purging, I found 56 denim and cotton quilt blocks numbered and ready to sew. I put them together in 2 night time sewings. The next night I pinned to the LA..then spent yesterday getting ready for company. This morning when 15 yo GD was here I enticed her to start meandering! This was her first time at the LA, but she has quilted a quilt on a DSM. Her stitching was so even! She's a natural with artistic talent and will easily adapt to FMQ (my machine doesn't have CAD features). She picked out a new to me pantograph she would like to try on baby sized flimsy she put together earlier. Bummer is I work tomorrow and she starts school on Friday. Sewing time is going to be limited now. Picture will follow.

Thanks, Connie....And now I found another ufo...143 10" squares made up of 71 checkerboard (done), 50 evening stars (done) and 22 star blocks with a small checker board in the middle. Checkerboard centers are done and am making the star points on 18 blocks. Using the no waste FG method for star points. This was inspired by Barbara Brackman's Under Lincoln's Stars. We'll see how long this takes me. I have the backing picked, but plan on putting a row of checkerboards and stars to widen my backing fabric so that will mean making more blocks. I started this more than a couple of years ago from scrap pieces.

ok, such a pretty nice finish. A great way to use up the (looks like) 2.5" squares.
Great 2 more finishes for PTF. Good luck on your shoulder surgery. I'll be sending warm fuzzies and quilting hugs your way.
Still working on my Batik squares. Hopefully completed by EOW. Digging out my train UFO and debating which other one to quilt of my 22 quilt tops I've completed. I'm also starting to cut new Halloween quilt for my niece. It's a very basic pattern we picked fabric out together. Oh well need to get to work. Happy sewing/quilting everyone.

Thanks for the kind words folks. Yes happylab...lots of 2 1/2 inch squares almost 900. My next UFO has 568 of them plus 176 1 1/2". Will soon have all the blocks done on that one.
petthefabric..good luck on your surgery. You can use the down time to plan new quilts now that you are getting UFO's done!
