I was doing so good until someone gave me 3 totes of fabric a month ago. I took what I thought I might use and passed on the rest to another quilter. It was good fabric but at 75 I am not taking on a lot of big projects. Right now I am making a black and white quilt with a burgundy piece in the center in every other block. No pattern just sewing strips together to make blocks and turning each block as I put together. I don't know how I ever acquired so many black and white pieces of fabric but you all know how it goes.

Just pulled small pieces of greens to make a quilt. Have a book and pattern I've been wanting to try. The green area is showing empty spots. After 4 yrs of this-I'm making progress.
Have two quilt tops that need backs. Waiting for a planned trip to Fresno to shop.
At a new-to-me friends home, noticed every exterior area of every room had stuff, covered in dust. It was hard to find enough space to have 10 for lunch. Reminded me to not accumulate stuff. Also, DD and SIL are moving across the nation and are showing pictures of getting ready. Last one was miss-matched socks. Just another reminder, I don't need all this stuff and sometimes it gets in the way of what I want to do.
The trees are beautiful red/yellow/fall.

oksewglad: Precious quilt for the new baby. My husband had pearl snaps on some of his western shirts. Brought back a wonderful memory when you mentioned a pearl button.
Karamarie: I have a lot of black and white fabric too and mostly through donations to my church group that somehow was put in bags for me to use. Lol!
petthefabric: Way to go with an empty spot in the greens!

I have my black and whites collected for a wedding quilt. I'm trying to work the ombre jelly roll into it. I paid enough for it that I need to use it right away. I think I have a pattern worked out, but for once, I will make just one bock before I cut too much.
I cut out a baby quilt today. I've used this pattern so much, I'm getting bored with it. New colors for me - very soft gray and soft aqua.

Pet, I think we all need to be reminded that "stuff" we don't use (or need) is just a collector of dust. I moved in May & had to pack up my house, a hugely daunting task. I did most of it myself, & gave away huge amounts of clothes, craft supplies (which I gave to various schools) & I still have too much. I do not consider fabric in that group, but...
I want only objects that please me, or I can use, to be in my space. Now to find a way to use some gifted fabric in my collection.

Especially this time of year, in low humidity areas of the nation and forest fires raging-smoky air, dust is a real issue. We even have air purifiers going 24/7. Anything extra (stuff), is extra work dusting. My studio reminds me I'm an artist, not a house keeper. So keep artist stuff that is contributing to my enjoyment and developement. I see a stack of CD's, not used in years....dust collector-out of my life!
