Allietare! - Bonnie Hunter's 2015 Mystery Quilt
#1171
I finished clue #4 today and hope to work on clue #5 tomorrow (will post photos after #5 is done).
Everyone is getting so much done. Instead of boredom with this project, the excitement seems to be building. Wonder if this Friday is the final clue or if we are in for a couple more weeks of sewing? I've still got quite a bit of fabric left in the pile, especially golds and neutrals.
I was watching an archived quilt cam from 2013 last night and there was a quilt on Bonnie's long arm that had a star block in it that used four of our Clue #4 units with 4-patches in the corners. The center was one square of fabric without piecing. It was a pretty block so I hope it is similar to what we will be doing with our units. Only time will tell!

Jeanne and Sewbiz, I was thinking the same thing! Too funny. I still have about half more to do on clue #5. Everyone's units look so nice. I am not being persnickety with mine, mainly because I want to get them done. This has been so fun and I don't want it to end so soon so I am kind of hoping that Friday wont be our last clue.

Thanks for the kind words--I was worried that the neutral wouldn't contrast enough with gold, but I loved it so much I figured I'd just place it carefully against the most contrasting gold I'm using during assembly.
I'm with Sandra-P--I'm not ready to end yet!

Love the colors of the alternate set (krista maybe) sorry eyes are tired and I didn't want to scroll back.
Great job everyone sticking to it even if behind a little. I have 1/2 of the 4 patches on clue 5 sewn and pressed (not trimmed) and haven't started the rectangles yet.
Some one posted on the FB site there are only 60% of the total square inches finished still have 40% to go.

I'm working a little out of order, but this is my best guess at the layout. I don't have any of the bricks from clue #5 yet, and I'm not sure where they will fit in. If these blocks are set on point, then we would need 18 setting triangles plus 4 corners, so that is a possibility. That would use up the paired bricks and the remaining HST 4-patches from clue #5. When I do the math though, this layout falls about 11" short in both dimensions. It will only work if there is some sort of narrow sashing between the blocks. I'm eager to see what news Friday brings!

With 10" blocks (what the star-like blocks turn out to be) on point, with a 3" HST border, we just need an additional 2.5" border to make the dimensions exactly what Bonnie said.
Whatever we end up with, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like this quilt a lot.
